No risks

It's been 3 weeks since I've moved back to Omaha and it actually feels like I've never been gone. Sure there are moments where my friends talk about funny things that happened and they all laugh together. It makes me sad to hear what I've missed but I'm here now and just happy to be back. Skylar has been at her grandparents house for the last week and won't be back until next week so I've been spending most of my time with Jack G. Jack and I quickly became close and I'm glad he's in my life again. My dad is on a business trip and my mom went to my aunt's house so I'm home alone and bored. I decided to text Jack and ask if he wanted to come over.

To Jack: Helloooo

From Jack: Hey what's up

To Jack: I was wondering if you wanted to come over I'm bored :(

From Jack: I'm at Sammy's right now but London is here too and all they do is make out so I would love to hang out 😂

To Jack: Lmao okay see you in a few

From Jack: I'll be there in about 15 minutes

To Jack: Okayyy

I heard the doorbell ring and went downstairs to open the door. I invited Jack inside and we went up to my room.

We watched Netflix for about 2 hours and started talking after "So tell me about Sammy and London" I said "Sammy really likes her but he hasn't asked her out yet. I think he's liked her for about a year but he didn't want to ruin their friendship" "What changed his mind?" "I don't know he only told me that he didn't wanted to ignore his feelings any longer." "I'm happy for them" "I'm happy for them too. I hope they'll last" I smiled at him and he said "I never really understood why he didn't just tell her how he felt but I think I'm beginning to understand" Was he talking about us? "What do you mean?" "Nothing. Forget what I said I think I'm gonna head home now." he said looking upset. Was he angry at me? Did I say something wrong? "Okay I'll go downstairs with you" "No it's okay" he said. "Alright,bye" He smiled at me but his smile looked kinda of.

Don't get me wrong I really like him and I would lie if I said I never thought we could be more than friends but we've been friends since we were little and i don't want to lose him. If he was talking about us, did that mean that he wants to be with me or that he would never want to risk our friendship?

"Giulia, I'm home" I heard my mom shout. I got downstairs and said "Hey mom how's aunt Carissa?" "She's good, have you had dinner yet ?" "No, Jack just left." "I saw him getting into his car, he looked upset. Did something happen? "No we were just watching Netflix in my room and-" "You two were alone in your room, while I was gone ?" Oh god "Mom are you serious right now you sound like dad. Jack and I are just friends." "I'm sorry it's just...your dad wouldn't like this" "Yeah but he's not here, is he?" "No he's not and I trust you but-" "Come on I've known him since I was a baby and if we ever dated I would tell you" "Okay." "Thanks mom." She smiled at me and we made Mac and cheese together. My mom has always been less strict than my dad when it came to boys. I guess dads are very protective over their daughters. After we ate I helped cleaning the kitchen and went to my room. I decided to read a book because I haven't read in a few days and I love to read. After 2 hours I decided to sleep but no matter how hard i tried I just couldn't fall asleep so I walked over to my window and opened it. For some reason that has always calmed me down. I just sat there for a while and thought about everything that had happened with jack today and I noticed that I knew exactly what he meant. It's not easy to commit your feelings and possibly ruin your friendship. All I know is that I'd rather be friends with jack forever than date him and possibly break up. I don't want to lose him. After about half an hour I went back to bed and eventually fell asleep.
