The Murder That Changed Me Forever

Chapter 23

I wake up in the hospital bed. It is around 2 pm. Justin has left, and Lily and Josh are in the room talking with the doctor.

" Lily, Josh, what are you doing here?" I ask them in a sleepy voice.

" Well you have been asleep for a little more than a day, and we get to take you home so you can rest and heal," Lily tells me.

" Alright, just sign here. I have the prescriptions waiting for you at the local Cheapko," the doctor turns to Lily.

Lily signs the paper and the doctor comes to me. He explains all the things I need to do, that includes getting plenty of rest, taking the daily dosages of pain meds, and being sure to clean the stitches properly. In about two to three weeks I should be able to come back and get the stitches removed and start physical therapy with my shoulder to get it back to it's old self.

We walk out to the car where Justin is waiting in the back seat for us. I get in the car and Justin helps me with my seatbelt.

" Jessica," He says to me, " Jody has found information about what you asked her to find for you."

Oh shit... I completely forgot about that. "Thanks Justin, and thanks for helping with the seat belt too. It would've been a huge struggle," I say to Justin winking at him.

We say nothing for the remainder of the car ride home. Once we get home I go to my room and find Jody sitting in my bed. I go and sit next to her.

" So did you find where the bluetooth camera connects to?" I ask her excited to see what she finds out.

" Yeah, it connects to your psychiatrists computer. Is there any part about him the seemed a bit familiar to you?" She responds almost instantaneously.

" Yeah, I guess. His voice sounded familiar and he clearly works out. Oh and he was holding and stroking a picture in a frame that looks similar to one that was stolen from my house the night of the murder. Plus he looked really fit," I confess to her. It seemed easier to confess to her since she was female after all.

" Okay. I will tell the team and they can try to get a search warrant to go and search his home and office."

Oh no, what if he is the murderer. Then they will catch him and Justin will be gone.

" Well I do have an appointment with him tomorrow. If I find anything suspicious I will let you know. He leaves for a little bit at a time, so I can try and sneak through his office a bit," I tell her.

" Okay. I will tell them after you sneak through his office. But please, please, PLEASE, do not get caught. If it is him, he will be crazy and it will not help."

" Okay I promise. Last time I went it ended weirdly, with me crying and then leaving right after."

" Okay. It's fine. And take these glasses cam. It will allow me to see what you see. There is a hidden camera. It is very discreet."

" Got it," I tell her and take the glasses.
