Tired and stressed, those were the only exact words that could correctly explain the feeling I had. I was done sending over 350 emails and delivering out the paperwork to every department. The time currently said ‘9:25’ and I still had to make 10 copies of a hundred files. To say I was exhausted would be an understatement. Chad was in his own little world with some files sprawled around his table. His eyebrows were furrowed in concentration giving him a cute look and his sleeves of his shirt were rolled up showing of his biceps. In all, he looked very mouth-watering. He didn’t notice when I slipped out of his office and I was grateful for that. Marge was absent from her post and I assumed that she must have already left for home seeing as it was already late. Once I stepped into the office I was to photocopy the files, I was surrounded with silence. The room was practically empty and the only person left in the office was Kevin. He looked up from his computer once he heard the door close behind me.
“What are you still doing here?” he asked taking a sip out of his coffee. His white sleeves were rolled up and his black blazer hanged behind his chair
“I still need to photocopy some files” I said smiling and raising the files into his view
“Oh, well the copy machine is in that room” he said pointing to a black door that was the end of the office
“Okay, thanks” I said walking towards the black door
“Do you need any help?” he asked with a smile and that’s when it hit me, I didn’t know how to photocopy. I turned around and offered him a shy smile
“You don’t know how to copy?” he asked in disbelief
“Yeah, you can say that” I said lowering my head to hide my blush while he laughed at my reaction
“It’s not funny” I whined like a 12 year old girl
“It kinda is, but don’t worry, I’ll teach you” he said smiling cheekily, his dimples in full view
“Thanks” I muttered as he walked pass me carrying his coffee with me trailing behind him. The room was spacious, but not too spacious as it was only a copy room. The copy machine stood in its centre and large stacks of paper were organized around the room. I watched as he turned on the switch and the copy machine booted or at least that’s what I thought it was doing. He took the files out of my grasp and urged me to come closer while he explained the whole process. At the end of it all, I realized I must have been really dumb to not know how to do a simple task that required pressing two or three buttons. He stayed behind watching me as I made copies of all the files while we made small talk.
“So, how did you get to be Mr .Morse’s personal assistant?” he asked. Oh, so that’s his last name
“It happened through a bet” I said nonchalantly
“A bet?” he asked inquisitively
“Yeah” I answered shortly not taking my eyes of the photocopy machine
“I don’t think I’m following, care to elaborate further”
“Well, I used work in this café…” I said stopping to look at him
“Go on” he urged me to continue while taking a sip from his coffee
“He walked in like he owned the place and placed an order up but not before rudely commenting my outfit; I was dressed just in my uniform with no makeup on and my hair in a high ponytail. I ignored his comment and offered him a polite reply before he found a seat” I continued “His friend walks in and he’s so much nicer than him, he asks about his friend and I point to the direction where the jackass was seated. I was stuck in my own personal bubble, daydreaming about his friend that I forgot the order. I rushed up the order and headed in their direction but collided with Chad’s chest or my likely, the frappucinos did and the look on his face was priceless” I laughed remembering the look he had while a smile played along Kevin’s lips
