Hey guys!! Here's our revamp of I promise!! We hope you like it :)

~

The familiar sound of the alarm snaps me back from my tired trance. I sneak my hand out my warm blanket cocoon just to hit the snooze button on my phone once again. I groan as I roll over in my bed, pulling the covers over my face. "Just five more minutes" I mumble as I start to feel myself drift off again. I hear footsteps coming from outside my door and I let out a loud sigh. I peep my head out from under the thick comforter just as the lights are turned on, I wince as my eyes adjust to the sudden brightness.

"Zut alors, Cassidy! Get out of bed! Your alarm has been going off for 30 minutes now!" My mother scolds from the doorway.

An over exaggerated groan escapes my lips as I roll away from my mom, picking up my phone and checking the time.

"It's 5:30 mom, it's too early" I whine as I shove my face back into my pillows.

"The schedule says you need to meet your classmates at the airport in 2 hours, and Summer is going to be here soon, let's try not to be late to this like everything else." She scolds as she closes my bedroom door.

I turn over in my bed, and look at the three packed suitcases on the floor of my messy room. I stretch out my arms, letting out a sigh before finally hopping out of my warm bed and heading towards my bathroom. I turn the shower on, letting the steamy air fog up the mirror as I turn on my speaker and shuffle my playlist. I step in the shower, allowing the hot water and loud music relax my tired body. Soon a loud knock comes from the door, followed my mother yelling something incoherently French. I take this as a signal to hurry up and I continue to wash my hair and body. Once finished, I promptly dry myself off and head across the hall to my room.

I take a long glance out my frost covered window checking out today's weather. I shudder as I see the snow white barren landscape of the Canadian winter. Considering the harsh January weather, I quickly scout out my favourite leggings and a oversized evergreen sweater in the mess of my room. I'm so excited for the warm weather of Australia to grace my frozen pale skin and turn me into a tan Australian goddess. I turn and look in my small mirror hanging on the back of my door and decide to leave my brown hair in its natural messy waves. Taking one last look in the mirror and contemplate whether or not to skip makeup for the day. Considering I'm going to be stuck in a metal tube for 14 hours straight, I decide against it. Turning out of my bedroom my eyes catch on an old family photo. Me and my mother. My heart drops as old memories start to flood my brain. I'm going to miss all of this. I shake my head and make my way down the carpeted stairs towards the kitchen.

"Oh ma crevette, you're growing up so fast." My mother swoons in a thick French accent, causing me to cringe slightly at the old strange nickname. "I'm going to miss you so much." She says placing her large cup of coffee on the marble kitchen island. I sigh and reach towards my mom as she engulfs me into a warm bear hug.

"Relax mom, I'm only going to be gone for 9 months." I say, letting out a shaky breath.

"Yes, but you're going to be all the way across the world. Literally." She states in a sad tone while giving my shoulders a tight squeeze. I start to feel tears well up in the corners of my eyes as I latch onto my mom even tighter.

"We agreed on no crying crevette." My mom says pulling out of our hug and wiping the tears from underneath my eyes with her thumbs. "You're going to have an amazing time, now come on, let's go get your bags." I take a quick sip of her coffee before following her up our winding staircase and into my room. We each grab one of the big suitcases as I swing my large carry on around my back. We place the bags in front of the door and I head back into the kitchen, craving the taste of lucky charms and green tea.
