(Authors Note: After receiving so many nice comments asking for a part 2, I decided to make this into a set of drabbles/onehshots dedicated to Vasco! Hope you enjoy)
Your first day at Jae Won high was interesting to say the least. You could understand now why Vasco and his friends were wearing jumpsuits to class considering how messy the Architecture class could be, but thankfully you were provided with a smock before class started. By the end of the day, your nails were filled with clay and bits of it stuck to your hair. Leaving the building, you began to walk back to your apartment, thinking about all the interesting characters you met earlier today.
Vasco and Jace along with the rest of their group, whom you learned were called The Burn Knuckle, were very helpful in accommodating you to your new class. Anytime you would ask for help, they would shove Vasco in your direction or answer your question before casually mentioning how awesome Vasco is. It was pretty obvious to you that they were trying to set you two up, which honestly you wouldn't mind considering how brave and handsome Vasco is, but the boy didn't seem to process this information.
By the time lunch came around, The Burn Knuckles happily invited you to sit with them as they all introduced themselves to you. From a distance, they looked quite intimidating, but once you got to know them, you realized that they were all big softies. Sitting beside Vasco was the best part though with how you could admire his muscles up close and clearly hear his hearty chuckle even though the surrounding area was quite loud. It was quite obvious to tell that you were head over heels for the boy already.
Sighing in content, you continued on your walk home as you fantasized about the date you promised the boy upon entering the classroom. As soon as you opened your apartment door, you pulled out your phone and the piece of paper Jace gave you. Typing in the phone number, you sent a quick text.
[Your Number]: Hey, this is (Y/N)! Is this Vasco?
Laying on your bed, you patiently awaited his response. When it wasn't answered immediately, you sighed and pulled out your homework. Beginning to answer the first problem, you heard the familiar chime of a text coming from your phone. Quickly, you lunged for your phone, your homework being forgotten all about.
[Vasco]: Yes, hello (Y/N)
❀❀❀
From the other side of the phone, The Burn Knuckles struggled over Vasco's phone. "We have to get these two together," Jace yelled as the group shouted in agreement.[Y/N]: Is tonight a good night to go out? If not I'm available anytime this week, so just let me know :)
[Vasco]: Tonight is fine with me. Where would you like to go?
[Y/N]: I just moved here, so I'm not too familiar with the area. Any place you'd recommend?
The boys panicked for a moment as they all started shouting out places to go.
"How about the park!" "They're going to dinner you idiot, remember?" "The convenient store is pretty cheap" "The convenient store is no place to take someone out on a date!"
They continued to bicker as they struggled over the phone, but froze in place when a large shadow fell over them.
"Whats going on," Vasco asked, eyeing Jace before looking at his phone that his friend was holding.
"Uhhh, just trying to find a good place to eat tonight. My phone died and your phone was the closest so I thought I'd look up some restaurants. Any place you'd like to go Vasco," Jace stumbled out, quick to find an excuse to not give away their plans.
"There's a ramen shop that just opened up around here. I wouldn't mind giving it a try," he responded, completely oblivious to Jace's true intentions.
"Sounds good to me, I'll meet you there around 7. Lemme just send a quick text to myself to remind me," he said, picking up the phone once again and responding to you, only for you to respond back immediately.
[Vasco]: How about the new ramen shop? I'll meet you there around 7
[Y/N]: Cant wait!
❀❀❀
Sitting in your room, you questioned what to wear on your date. A ramen shop didn't sound too fancy but you wanted to make a good impression on Vasco. After finally finding something nice to wear and cleaning the clay remnants off your body, you looked at the time on your phone.
"6:30 already? Guess I should head over to the restaurant," you mumbled to yourself before grabbing your things and heading to meet Vasco.
❀❀❀
Though Vasco made it to the restaurant a few minutes before 7, he didn't spot his friend anywhere. Pulling out his phone, he dialed Jace's number only to hear a loud cough from the other line.
"Are you ok Jace," Vasco questioned, concerned for his dear friend.
"Y-yeah, but I think I'm going to have to stay home tonight, I just feel too sick," Jace responded, attempting to sound sick.
"Do you want me to come over and help," he asked, only for Jace to shout "No!"
"You're already at the ramen shop, why not just go ahead and get something to eat. Maybe some soup will help you from catching what I got," Jace hurriedly jumbled out, trying to keep his plan from backfiring.
"Hmm, you're right. Take care Jace, I'll see you later," he said before exchanging goodbyes.
Sighing, he made his way to the entrance of the restaurant only to be stopped by a familiar voice calling out his name.
"Hey Vasco," you greeted stepping before him.
"(Y/N), you're eating here too," he questioned, noticing how cute you looked in your outfit with your hair neatly done.
"Well, of course. I was planning on coming here with you after all," you responded cheerfully, not noticing his confusion.
"Are you a psychic too," he questioned, much to your confusion, but before you could answer, a waitress led you to an open table.
Completely forgetting about his odd question, you looked over the menu until Vasco's voice caught your attention.
"You should get the tom kha. It's really good at keeping your immune system up, especially since there's a cold going around," Vasco said while looking over the menu.
"A cold," you questioned, unaware of such an outbreak.
"Yeah, Jace caught it, and I'd hate to see you catch it too," he responded. Though his comment was quite stoic, you felt a light blush rest on your face at the fact that he cared about your well being.
After ordering, the two of you made small talk and got to know each other better. The date wasn't awkward in the slightest considering how swell the two of you got along.
Once the waitress came with the bill, you quickly pulled out your wallet."Allow me," Vasco said, pulling out his own.
"No way, I told you earlier I'd treat you to dinner. I mean, you saved my life, it's the least I can do. You're my hero afterall," you responded, sliding the bill closer to you.
Reaching out, Vasco grabbed your hand that held the bill.
"It wouldn't be very heroic of me to allow you to pay though," he responded cooly, taking the bill away from your grasp as you stared in awe.
From saving your life to paying for your dinner, he really was your hero. Your very own Hero Man.
