Harlow huffed down the gravel road leading to the Garrison, meeting her brothers, followed by her patrol men. She was definitely calmer than earlier, though the words echoed in her ears. Peaky Princess. Do you help with the killings or screw around? The words took to her more than she thought they would. Harlow swallowed the lumped in her throat. No, not a lump. Actual bile. She rushed to the nearby alley way and released, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
Glancing behind her at the patrol, their backs to her to give her some privacy, "Speak a word of this to anyone and I'll wear your tongues as a necklace." Harlow slid her hands down her dress, making her way towards the Garrison. She couldn't have her family worrying about her anymore than they were already. It was becoming quite inconvenient for her.
Harlow shook her head slightly, emptying it of the nonsense that crept its way through. Finn stood at the entrance, most likely awaiting her arrival. He waved the patrol men off. They tipped their hats at the young lady before heading inside the Garrison themselves. Harlow took hold of Finn's arm and he lead them through the door.
"Do you think I'll ever be rid of the patrol?" Harlow acquired as they made their way towards the bar where Harry stood, smiling.
Finn laughed. "Do you? Tommy and John seem pretty tempted to keep you on a leash for the rest of your days."
"That's what I'm afraid of." Harlow sighed, her brother chuckling at his sister expense. "Two please, Harry."
Harry ran around behind the bar, scrambling to get the two drinks Harlow ordered. Finn smiled from next to her, only to roll his eyes when she took both drinks in her delicate hands. Harlow chugged one of the whiskeys, placing the empty glass on the bar. Finn raised a brow at his sister as she sipped the second one steadily.
"What?" She stated, passing through the thick crowd to get to the private room where their other brothers resided.
Finn slung an arm around Harlow's shoulders, sending her a smile. "Not a Peaky princess, hmm?" Harlow huffed nastily, shrugging her brother off her body and pushing him into a poor older man standing at the corner of the bar.
"You can't deny you're not a Peaky princess. Even Ada doesn't have that title." Finn continued, opening the door to the small room. They cantered in, receiving suspicious glances from both John and Arthur, no doubt hearing bits of the two younger Shelbys' conversation. The boys exchange glimpses and grinned at their siblings.
Harlow released a grunt from the back of her throat. She wasn't a spoiled brat, she just expected certain things to be the way she wanted them. It wasn't even the princess part that rubbed her the wrong way. She watched as her brothers continued to stare at their sister, rolling her eyes, "Don't. Fucking. Start."
