Foggy Air

As Astro had exited the Control Room and entered the elevator, it rattled down and opened. Astro walked out with Zorro behind him. "Let's go to San Fran. For funsies." Astro walked up to his fucked ship and popped the canopy.

Zorro stepped out of the elevator beside Astro and stared out the open hangar. The whole room was a vacuum when they first arrived.
"Fuck it, alright"
He walked up to Astro's jet.

Astro booted up the thrusters and turned them vertically. He dropped from the ship's locks and flicked the switch to unfold the wings. The ship was caught just before it hit the ground. It rotated and hovered there for a minute. "We got everything we need?"
----
Zorro was launched back into the seat and he groaned, looking out the window into space as they left the station. He still worried for everyone on board.
"A few guns I wanna test, yeah"

"Got your pills?" Astro said as he looked back to Zorro sitting behind and above him in a stacked position.

Zorro patted his thigh
"Got a stash for where ever I go"

Astro gave a sigh of relief and turned to strap himself in. "To San Francisco we go!" He gave a mock applause before changing the thruster direction and taking off.
------------

The ship broke through the atmosphere with ease. Astro sighed and decided to land on the exact same arch on the golden gate they had a few days prior.

Zorro climbed out of the vessel, his feet planting against the muddy brown spire.

"What should we do first, amigo?" Astro hopped out of his ship and approaches his damaged friend.

"What the hell can we do up here? Dive into the water?" asked Zorro. The sarcasm in his sythizsized voice rung as an inner echo.

"Well Jesus kiddo, I came here for the view, holy shit." Astro chuckled and backed away a bit.

Zorro laughed as well, backing away from the edge
"Well, we could slide down this massive support rail.."

Astro then said after a long pause,"Oh yeah, I've been thinking. What if I made a grappling hook with infinite range due to plasma."

Zorro looked at Astro with an empty visor."Plasma is a burning gas. It can't hold a physical object. I built one that can go... Give or take fifty meters"

"I mean, it has a material hook attached to the end of it, doofus. But it's wrist mounted and just creates more plasma given on the object you want to shoot at." Astro says.

"Huh... That's gonna take a lot of trial and error..."
Zorro coughed harshly and bent over, holding his mechanical throat.
"God...". He made a fist as he spoke through his covered speaker.

"You alright?" Astro looked down to Zorro, who appeared to be in a bit of pain.

Zorro reached down with his right arm, essentially digging his arm around inside the hole on his left side. He didn't respond for a moment, and held his hand in place. He took a deep breath and felt something fleshy expand against his fingertips before he broke out coughing again.
"I'm fine"
He was finally able to say.

"Dude, you need to repair that. Your lungs are gonna get infected or something." Astro's tone was that of a worried friend. He looked up to Zorro, so to see him in pain made him feel uneasy.

"Too late, I'm here to enjoy the view"
Zorro grunted and looked down at the foggy clouds.
"What kinda shit lurks down there...". The foggy view seemed like it hid something under the water.
