Song ; Barefoot Blue Jean Night by Jake Owen

"A fool moon shinin' bright. Edge of the water, feelin' alright. (...) Caught up in a southern summer, barefoot blue jean night."

{Andrew's POV}

*Two days later*

Since Ansley's brother wasn't to fond of me, I decided to lay low for a little while. Even though we're not together, I just feel the need to always see her. Guess it's just the effect she has on me. Our first date was literally the best night of my life.

My parents were out of town, and they told me that I could have a few friends at the lake house we owned. Of course I was going to ask Ansley if she wanted to come. Instead of texting her, I decided to do it the old fashioned way and actually call her.

It rang a couple of time before I heard her sweet southern accent answer the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Ansley! It's Andrew."

"I know." she giggled. "I have caller ID. What's up?"

"Well, my parents aren't going to be in town for a couple of days and I'm allowed to have some friends at our lake house. I was wondering if maybe you and a friend wanted to come hang out?" I asked, trying to sound too hopeful.

"Um," she hesitated. "It depends. Who all is going to be there?"

"Not many people." I told her. "Just me, you, your friend, my bandmates, Zach and Jared, and possibly Jared's girlfriend."

"Oh. Well, I'll definitely try to come. It's tonight right?"

"Yep."

"Sounds good. I'm probably going to bring my friend Katie. But we'll see you, say about, 7-ish?"

"See you then, beautiful." I said, ending the phone call.

Woah. Did I really just say that? Did I really just call her beautiful? I mean, not that she isn't. I just don't want to make her feel pressured into a relationship.

Wow. This girl is really bringing out my sensitive side.

Turns out, Ansley and her friend were the first ones to arrive. Jared and Zach would probably turn out being late, as always. I jogged out to greet them.

"Hello ladies." I smiled. "Have any trouble finding the place?"

"Well, we did take a wrong turn once, but other than that no." Ansley told me. "This is my friend, Katie. Katie, this is Andrew. I'm pretty sure you met him the other night, but you were super drunk."

"Geez, thanks for embarrassing me." Katie said, laughing and shaking my hand. "Um, can I use your restroom?"

"Oh, yeah! Just go through the door, down the hall, and it's the first door to your right." I replied.

After Katie went inside, it was just me and Ansley. Man, we've got to get rid of these awkward silences.

"Do you want to go inside?" I asked her.

"Sure! Yeah." she exclaimed. "I was just admiring how beautiful it is out here. Growing up must've been amazing for you."

"It was pretty good. I remember fishing with my dad and brother a lot. After you." I said, opening the door for her.

My mom was one of those Mom's who had every picture ever taken of my brother and me hanging or sitting in a frame. The pictures were scattered around the house. In the bedrooms, living room, and den basically.
