Cassie had fallen asleep in class, until the school bell rang. The bell made Cassie flinch, and she quickly looked up, and then back down at her notebook. Empty. Completely empty. Like a cold metal tube. Empty. Cassie hadn't wrote down her essay. She thought, and knew. Yes, she knew. She grabbed her notebook, and held it against her chest, as she quickly scrambled out the door silently. Cassie sighed a breath of relief. She was lucky the teacher didn't catch her, and if she did, that's why she practically ran out of the room. Well, today Cassie was coming home from school, and was away from home for about six months now, and couldn't wait to see her family again. A smile spread across her face, just thinking about seeing her family again. Cassie started out the door, pushing her wavy brown hair to the side, and adjusting the backpack straps on her shoulders. Cassie hurried down the the cold, peach steps. The crispy cold wind blew at her face, making her hair almost fly behind her back. She looked like one of those super models walking down the red carpet. 'They did have fans blowing back their hair, right?' Cassie thought, a small smile tugging at her lips. Her brown doe eyes practically sparkled as she headed towards her dads truck. Cassie was borrowing her dads truck to drive back home. Wait... She was? Suddenly, Cassie's heart began thumping loudly in her chest. Thump, Thump, Thump. She quickened her pace, her boots starting a steady rhythm. Thump, Thump, Thump. Cassie then saw a face in the drivers seat. She breathed heavily. Was there a theft in her das car? But, it wasn't any face. Cassie then spotted a cowboy hat on the persons head. Not any hat... Cassie then caught glimpse if the whole figure. Not any figure... The mystery person shot a small smile, and pressed his hands against the steering wheel. Not any smile... Cassie gasped, and covered her mouth. It wasn't just any mysterious person... It was her dad! Cassie smiled widely, and sprinted over to her dads truck and her dad, her boots pounding on the cool, peach pavement.

"Dad!" Cassie yelled, and a white mist cloud came out of her mouth as she yelled. Cassie's dad rolled down his window, and took off his hat off his head, and gave a toothy grin. "Howdy, Stranger." Her dad said, placing the hat back on his head. Cassie grinned, and stopped at the window, peeking her head through the window, and in the truck. Her dad ruffled her hair, and patted the passengers seat with his hand. "Get on in, Kiddo." Cassie's dad said quietly, almost in a whisper. He rolled up the window, as Cassie skipped to the other side of the truck. She placed her hand on the cool metal handle, and tugged it open. Cassie practically jumped into the truck, and reached over to give her dad a tight bear hug. Cassie pulled back, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. She couldn't help but rant on and on.

"Dad, I can't wait to see the horses! I miss you, mom, Ryan, Austin, Ashl-." Cassie's dad chuckled, giving Cassie a side hug, and almost shutting up Cassie immediately. "You'll get some time to talk once we get home. You can talk about how your school year was, your grades, and more to me, your mom, Austin, Ryan, Ashle-." Cassie giggles, as she quickly shushes him. "Don't waste your words on me, dad." Cassie repeated and emphasized, as she sits back in her seat, and relaxes her worn out muscles. Her dad looks over at Cassie, grinning. He shakes his head, still grinning. He turns his attention back to the almost empty parking lot, and put his foot lightly on the gas pedal. "Buckle up, Kiddo. It'll be a loooong drive." Cassie's dad told Cassie. She nodded her head understandably as she closed her eyes. Her dad turned ok the radio, putting on the song 'Home Sweet Home.' Cassie softly smiled, and spoke in a whisper. "I love you, dad." Cassie's dad smiled even wider, looking back in the review mirror. "Love you too, kiddo." He said, tapping his hands to the beat of the song on the wheel. The rest of the car ride was silent, except for the quiet beat, music, and words of the slow song.

"Home sweet home, forever at last. Hooommeee sweet home... Yes, oh, yes..."

A/N:
Hello! Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! It's pretty short, so I'm sorry for that! The next few chapters will be pretty interesting, especially when Cassie finds the wild mustang horse! Love you all! Also, the song 'Home Sweet Home' is not a real song (at least of what I know of.) so... yeah! Also, (Yes, I know. Another also.) the young girl up at the top is Cassie! Hope you enjoyed! Byyeee.
