The Start of Something New

CHAPTER 1

BEATRIZ'S (P.O.V)

" C'mon Beatriz lets gooooooo already." yelled my little brother from downstairs. "ugh I'm coming" I yelled back. "We're gonna be late c'mon, hurry your slow ass up Beatriz." he yelled. "I said I'm coming!!!" I yelled back again. I heard my mom honking outside, so I decided to hurry up. My brother and I climbed into the car and left to school.

*AT SCHOOL*

"Bye bro" I said to my little brother. He just ignored me and went over to his friends, "Jerk" I muttered under my breath. Well since he joined his friends I guess I better go find mine. I whipped out my phone and texted Breana to see if she was here yet. Within seconds she replied with a yup. "yes" I thought to myself "now i dont have to be by myself" I walked over to where we always meet up and gave her a hug. "good morning love" she said. "HIIII" I said and we started laughing. Breana opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by the school intercom and the principal started talking. "Breana Davidson and Beatriz Hernandez please report to the principal's office immediately" We both turned to each other, our faces pale. "What the hell did you do!" We both yelled at each other at the same time. By now everyone is staring at us with stupid looks on her faces. "What the F**k are you guys looking at." I heard Breana say, her dark brown eyes staring everyone down that's staring at us until they look away. I smack her arm. "Breana calm down, lets just go to the principal's office and see what he wants." "Fine lets just get this over with." she says and we pick up our backpacks and head into the building. We walk down the long hallway and stop at the door labeled Principal's Office. I look at Breana and she nods her head,I knock on the door.

To be honest I don't know why I'm so nervous. Breana and I haven't done anything wrong. If anything Breana and I are star students. That thought calms down my nerves. I look over at Breana who has the same look of relief on her face that I do. And that's when when the principal's assistant (Ms.Lucy) opens the door. "Good Morning girls, C'mon in." Said Ms.Lucy with a bright smile. We walked over to the Principal Mr.Dixon. "Take a seat girls."Mr.Dixon said. We sat on the two available chairs. Mr.Dixon opened his mouth to say something and I could already smell the coffee from his breath. "Well girls as you two know you are two of this school's top students in academics and in behavior." "Thank you, Mr.Dixon" Breana said in a polite tone."kiss up" I thought to myself. "So I wanted to ask you two for a favor" Mr.Dixon continued. "Um what is it?" I asked. "Well starting tomorrow we have two new students transferring here, and I would like for you two for the next month, to walk them to their classes, show them around campus, and help them get situated here." Before me or Breana could respond or discuss it, Mr.Dixon said "And in return you will get A's in all your classes, I figured it would be fair since you girls already have A's in every class, and since you two are also going to have to spend your free time tutoring them since they are a bit behind. We didn't say anything at first, and then I looked up at the principal's pleading eyes, and then turned my head towards Breana. The look on her face told me she had already decided on doing it. I opened my mouth but before I could say anything, Breana said "We'll do it." "okay great thank you girls, be here by 7:30 am tomorrow so that I can introduce you to our new students." Said Mr.Dixon. We all got up, Breana and I shook the Principal's hand and left his office. As soon as the door shut behind us. Breana turned to me and said "Well that was unexpected." "Really unexpected." I said

*1st PERIOD* * BREANA'S (P.O.V)*

Beatriz and I went our separate ways since she has math 1st period and I have English. By now it was 8:45 and class starts at 8:00 so I was extremely late. And me being the goody two shoes that I am decided to run to class even though I had an excuse from the principal in my pocket. I walked in the classroom and all eyes were on me. I felt my face burn up and I ran to the teacher and gave him my note before he could say anything. He read the note and told me to sit in my seat. Everyone's attention went back to the teacher and I just zoned out and started thinking about lunch.
