Seon had slowed down and was breathing heavy. Oskar let her ride piggyback as she continued her tale. "I could not sleep that night as my mind was thinking the craziest of things, finally a few hours before dawn I was able to get to sleep. Nearly a week later King Alastair called me to his throne and Wolve's-Claw was already there both with somber looks upon their brows. Alastair spoke in a raspy regal tone "Seon your city was destroyed by Stevkan last night." i froze as it felt like a spear was launched straight through my chest. Wolve's-Claw sadly looked at me struggling to maintain his stance "I went there last night Miss Seon but unfortunately I was too late to be of assistance. Stevkan had ordered and led the complete obliteration of your city." I collapsed unable to take the wave of loss i was just handed knowing all those I knew or cared about were now dead or imprisoned in Stevkan's prisons. I fell into Wolf's arms and Alastair told me if I wished to continue my medical training I could. wolf carried me as I sobbed all the way to my room and laid me in my bed where for hours i sat weeping the loss of all I knew. It was about two weeks before i was finally able to leave my room and Wolve's-Claw was the first person i saw upon leaving my room.
He greeted me and then grabbed my hand and led me to a room in the basement towards a wall where he did something causing the wall to dematerialize. "Stay close." he said as he held a blade in one hand and a torch in the other. We walked down the deep passageway for an hour avoiding the rats and greyals until we reached a door. "This is my past and my present." Wolf said as he opened the door revealing a very large chamber full of beautiful paintings, statues, books and even a very large bed. He took me to a painting of a man and his wife. "Who's this?" I asked as they looked vaguely familiar. "They are my parents my father was Tiger's-Fang and my mother Lioness'-Eye. They were the last King and Queen of the Lai Kun clan but we were forced into poverty by the False King when he gained power. They were forced into his army and both died when i was merely six years of age I was living with my grandfather for a time but he died shortly after they did. Luckily I was able to be trained by Sensei Torro Fukushima for the next decade. Then I too was conscripted into the False Kings army. Tell me did you ever hear of how Tresbull was formed?" He asked that almost in a whisper, "I didn't think you were a mere soldier Master Wolf now I know it. You're the soldier who fought a thousand men and took the False King's head after he betrayed you. I don't understand how you can easily deal with so much death and destruction and maintain yourself." He looked me in the eyes and said "I kill only dishonorable foes who seek to kill for avarice of money, power, or simply for the pleasure of it. Though I feel as if it's my only purpose for existing. It bothers me greatly as I am extremely strong yet I've failed to protect people from Stevkan's wrath and desire to control the entire world. Twice now I've failed to uphold my oath to you but I won't let my failures keep me from fighting. You think I don't let it bother me but the failures and deaths push me to become stronger. You see I am a lot like you Miss Seon but my conscience screams at me to keep fighting harder. You see this painting?" He asked as we stood in front of a painting directly in front of the bed. It was of a battlefield littered with corpses, in the middle stood a massive man carrying a giant sword with four spikes upon its hilt. beneath him laid the corpse of a man in black and red armor bearing Stevkan's crest and in the mans other arm was a woman of unparalleled beauty.
"What is this painting of?" I asked to which Wolf shrugged saying "I know not, but a week before I met you I painted it after having the most vivid and realistic dream. I believe it to be a vision of a possible future. Maybe this will com to pass but I truly believe that corpse to be Stevkan Tehurst himself." I stood silent for a moment before I finally asked "Why did you bring me to this place? Please tell me I don't understand what my role in this world could possibly be?" Wolf stood full height and breathed calmly yet his normal smile was not to be found. "I brought you here to tell you it's okay to cry in such times but you need to harness your courage and use it as well as your knowledge of your own weakness and move forward. You're not alone Miss Seon. Yes you may not a warrior be but you are not weak. Your arena is medicine not swords and even though I haven't seen you work as a healer I see inside you what your teacher did. With your skills you may save far greater numbers of people than I ever will with all my strength. Please do not give in to your sadness. You have a light inside you that burns with a fiery passion so harness that light Miss Seon and become the greatest you can be." I did not realize it but he had just said precisely what my heart needed to hear to become whole once more. I fell to my knees tears streaming as I pledged to fight wholeheartedly to become the greatest doctor this world has ever seen.
Five years had passed since that first day I arrived in Tresbull. Wolve's-Claw had asked to meet me one night and I walked to the courtyard as requested. "Congratulations Miss Seon you've become known as the greatest doctor in all of Ishkumbala. Do you realize what today is though?" He asked and i simply looked at him puzzled. "Ah it is just as Al said it seems. Five years ago today was the day you became a truly powerful woman. I am proud to have been able to have helped you achieve this. I must say you are a far cry away from the little girl you were back then. Anyway enough of the past I called you here for two reasons. The first of which is these gifts for you." He said as he stepped aside revealing a very ornately carved box with a weathered handwritten journal atop it. "This journal was written by Dr. Kai-Lei who was both a doctor and white mage. it possesses many different surgeries, cures, and spells as well." I was enthralled as I examined some of the various surgeries not even I thought possible as well as different spells that were writ inside it. "Open the box Miss Seon." Said Wolf cheerfully and I set the journal aside to open it. My eyes were amazed as I saw the most beautiful surgical instruments ever crafted. "My word Wolf these are too beautiful to be used in surgeries but I thank you nonetheless." He laughed for a moment then looked at me and said "Miss Seon I had these specially crafted and enchanted to where they can be used in actually surgeries. They won't ever rust noir cause any post op infections." My emotions overcame me as i immediately jumped into his arms screaming my thanks very loud into the skies. After we recovered from my outburst i looked at him and asked "Wolf what was the second reason you called me out here?" The expression on his face changed instantly from cheerful to pure sorrow. "Have you ever heard of Tiva?" he asked with a choked voiced I told him I did and he continued, "Can you go there and set up a hospital as it's right in the middle between us and Stevkan so you could possibly convert many to our side, heal a vast amount of people, and simply aid who else you can?" It was like someone hit me in the face with a mallet I could not understand why he was suddenly pushing me away"H-H-Have I wronged you in some way Wolf? Please why are you trying to force me away?" I asked quite hurt and the look as well as his voice were both pained "Believe me Seon if it were my decision I'd never let you outta my sight that's the truth. This is from Al not from me." After a few moments I looked at him and said I would need time to think it over. Wolf said to me that Al was having a party the following night and Al was wanting the answer by that party's end. I nodded and took my gifts leaving to my room.
That night all i could think of was why he wanted to push me a great distance away? I was sad and angry and don't even know when I finally managed to attain sleep. The next morning I went walking around town reading Dr. Kai-Lei's journal focusing mainly on the spells. I found some to increase speed and endurance which could explain some of Wolf's abilities but not all. I stopped reading and suddenly realized I was over a mile into the woods outside of Tresbull. As I was thinking of returning to the castle I could hear voices nearby. "Our orders say we're to attack the castle tonight during the party. We are to kill all but Wolve's-Claw if possible. Lord Stevkan commands the capture of the Blue Wolf now get your rest we're gonna need it for the party starts in six hours." Said a man with an x-shaped scar on his forehead that went through his right eye."YES SIR!" shouted all his soldiers in unison it appeared to be around one hundred and fifty men or so. I quietly snuck my way away from there for some distance until I felt safe enough to run full speed all the way back to the castle as fast as my feet could carry me. "I've got to warn the King and Wolf!!!" Was all i could think of as I sped into town.
