      CHAPTER 2

Makenzie wasn’t sure what just happened. All she knew was that Genevieve must be coming for her next. She didn’t realize that her eyes were closed until she opened them, that’s when she saw Genevieve coming for her, all of a sudden she felt his rush come through her. Genevieve lunged toward her, Makenzie threw her hands out in front of herself to try to stop Genevieve, but then something weird happened. When Makenzie threw her hands out, Genevieve turned to ash. She wasn’t sure if she had done it or if Genevieve had just disintegrated. So Makenzie tried to do it with something else, she walked up to a flower vase and struck her hands out in front of herself. The flower vase caught fire and disintegrated, Makenzie screamed, and fell backwards.

    She looked over and saw Jace lying on the floor. It felt like a chunk of her heart had just been ripped out of her chest. She had just lost the only family she had left. Suddenly, a boy that looked to be about her age with bright curly golden hair burst through her front door. He walked over to her and crouched down next to her on the floor.

“That’s some strong silver you got there”.

“ Who are you” she asked him.

“ I’m Alex”

“ What did you mean when you said that I had strong silver.”

"I see peoples powers, you Ashers have a silver glow around you cause you turn things to ash. Once we train you, you’ll be able to see powers to, but I ain’t ever seen someone with a power color as bright as yours.”

" What are you talking about. What do you mean by I have powers, and what do you think you are doing just barging in my house. I don’t even know you!”

“ Like I said, my name is Alex, and you have powers because you parents had powers, everyone who has powers their parents had powers too, it just works that way. "

" Ok well how did you find me?" She was curious as to how he had found her seeing that she lived in Texas on a ranch in the middle of nowhere.

" Well a few of us Elementors aka people with powers, can track people along with our power over one of the elements, so that's how I found you, I'm a Tracker."

"Ok so why are you here if you were just going to tell me that I have powers, and by the way I already figured that out like 5 seconds before you got here, so you're a little late to the party.

" I didn't just come here to tell you that you've got powers, when a Tracker finds a new Elementor they immediately take them back to the hideout so technically I am breaking protocol by having this never-ending conversation with you."

" Well I can't leave ,not until we do something with my brother other than just leave him here."

" Ok fine, where do you want him buried, in the front or backyard."

" Well I would prefer that he be buried in a graveyard like any other person, but I guess if I have to choose then it would have to be the backyard."
