I sat on the low bleachers, starring at every daring jump, turn, and flip. I watched as a boy tamed a small purple wolf around the small stage area. I jumped in my seat. I was scared; for the boy's life, amazed; that he could have so much skill, and disappointed, only at myself. This boy was two years older than me, taming a wild wolf and not afraid to wear a hat with bunny ears and a jumpsuit with a tail!
I smiled at the amazing act, however.
The boy continued, trick after trick. Every move was perfect. He cut flips, sawed his father in half, and to finish his act off, he juggled knives.
I watched as each knife was thrown up and reflected spotlights shining down on him. He began to walk as he juggled, the crowd roared. I cheered along and clapped with delight. I watched his footwork. I wanted to learn it too! I saw a cord almost directly in front of a girl probably three years younger than me and the boy was almost directly at it.
I was too scared to tell him where the cord was, he probably already knew.
Then he tripped.
I saw the knife fall from the air, right towards the girl. I quickly stood up and grabbed her. I felt a sharp pain shot through my back. I pulled away and looked at the girl. I began to trip. I fell back to be caught by the boy in the bunny-eared hat.
