"I hate him so much," Popee growled. He was throwing knives at a target as I sat on the ground behind him. "He's such an embarrassment. It's his fault the circus failed. He ruined everything and if he ruins this final chance of happiness I have, I will kill him without hesitation." Hearing those words made me begin to worry. "Final chance of happiness?" I stood up and walked towards him, he was pulling back his arm to throw his next knife, but I grabbed it. "What do you mean?" I asked, keeping my voice soft. He just looked away. "Popee," I whispered. He pushed my hand off his arm and threw the knife, getting a perfect shot.
"That's the first time I've aimed a shot. Impressive, huh?" He gave me a soft smile. "Don't ignore my question." Popee's smile faded and he sighed. "I mean you obviously." He looked straight into my eyes as he said it. "How could I mean anything but you?" His soft smile returned as he grabbed my hands. "Y'know the day I hurt you, I didn't think much of it." He lightly pulled me down to sit with him. "How stupid was I?"

(This is in Popee's POV)
My mind went blank. I can't believe I just messed up in front of a crowd. Dad is gonna be mad. I heard people yelling, some crying. What's that about? Are they yelling at me, did I mess up that badly? It couldn't be that bad. All I did was trip.
Finally getting ahold of myself, I noticed I had a girl in my arms. I looked around to see people crowding around me and the girl I was holding before a man ripped her from my arms. It took me a second to fully understand what had happened. "Did I do that?" I asked out loud to myself, not expecting to get an answer until a man turned towards me and started to yell at me. "Whatever, it's not that big of a deal. She'll be fine." I rolled my eyes. I could feel the looks of hatred I was getting, but it's not my problem they were as stupid as him. Dad rushed over and started apologizing, but the man just kept yelling. I simply walked away.
"I can't believe some stupid girl is getting all the attention. She's probably some entitled brat. Boo-hoo, I hate the circus! They hurt me! Whatever." I growled to myself. Soon enough, an ambulance rushed in and took her and the mean man and some crying women away. "I've been hurt way worse than that and I never got special treatment like an ambulance. Stupid girl gets whatever she wants." The circus began to empty out and Mom and Dad were yelling again. Marifa walked over to me and sat down. "What are they going on about now?" I asked her. She kicked her legs back and forth. "How they're gonna split." She said, putting her fingers together then pulling them apart. "Yeah, right. That's gotta be the tenth time this week." I laughed. Marifa just glanced down. "Ha...yeah."
"What's wrong?" I asked, putting an arm around her. "Popee, I'm scared." I instantly fixed my posture. "Of what? What's wrong? Who do I need to beat up?" She rolled her eyes. "I'm scared Mommy and Daddy are actually gonna split. Mommy tells me every night she's gonna leave Daddy and take us with her. I don't wanna leave Daddy." As much as I hated Dad, I had to agree. I still didn't wanna leave him. "It'll never happen. It never does." I unwrapped my arm around her and grabbed her hand. "No matter what, at least we have each other, even if you are a little annoying." She let out a dramatic gasp. "Am not! You're lucky to have me as your sister!" I laughed and pushed her. "Hey!" She yelled and stood up.
She began to chase me inside the empty circus tent. While I was running away from her, I could've sworn I heard Mom say, "I don't want that mistake of a boy either."

"Oh, so you really didn't care at all, huh?" I said, glancing away. "Don't say it like I don't care now. (Y/N), you know for a fact I care about you. I'd do anything for you. What I thought I heard Mom say when I was little ended up being true, but it's still Dad's fault. He's the one that took Marifa away, I don't care what anyone thinks. Marifa and Mom were the only ones I cared about, but Dad took them away. You're all I have left." He sighed. "He's gonna take you away. You're the only person I care about." Popee grabbed my hand and gripped it hard, his eyes starting to water. "Don't leave me, please (Y/N), please don't leave me." His eyes were shut, but that didn't stop him from crying. "Popee, I won't leave, okay? I'm always gonna be right here, alright." I pulled myself on top of him, hugging him as I sat on his lap.
In between sobs, I heard him say, "Getting a little flirty, are we?"
