Mr. Fischbach

~~~
"Good morning students." He paused, picking up a piece of chalk and began to write on the board. "My name is Mr. Fischbach, and I am your fairly new and permanent English teacher." He finished writing, the board held his name in big cursive letters.
He set the piece of chalk down and turned to face his new first hour class. "Now before I take attendance I would like to state a few rules and regulations. First off, I'm pretty sure you guessed it, no cell phones, if I happen to see an electronic device out in class I will confiscate it. To get it back, see me after class has dismissed. Secondly I will not, and I repeat, will not tolerate talking while I am teaching, Nor when there are tests or quizzes being taken. Thirdly, I expect effort and proficiency when it comes to English, so if I ask you to write me a three page essay on whether or not juvenile offenders should be punished for felonies in the same way as adults, or maybe on the effects of government restrictions imposed on the media in modern countries, I expected it to be written with diligence and skill, not with the mindset of a 7th grader understood?"
The class nodded, and he continued. "Good, now, I will begin taking roll. If you are present say here. Heather Barnett?"
"Here."
"James Campbell?"
"Here."
*15 Names later*
"Travis Martin?"
"Here."
"Neveah Reid."
"..."
Mr. Fischbach looked up from the attendance sheet, scanning the room. "Neveah R-" The classroom door swings open.
"I'm here! Sorry I was running late." The student, Neveah apparently, quickly looks around for a seat, and ends up finding one up at the front of the class.
"Ms. Reid how kind of you to join us!" Mr. Fischbach said with slight sarcasm not looking at the tardy student. "Now after I'm done calling the rest of attendance, ask one of your peers to fill you in on the rules I discussed earlier." He finished and continue taking roll.
Neveah sets her bag down, and sat in her seat. Unknowingly, she takes out her phone and begins to text one last text to her mother saying: 'Alright mom will do, in class now, love you. <3" Just as she presses send a neatly sky blue painted nail taps her screen from the right.
"No cell phones, as Mr. Hardass said earlier." the girl paused. "Hi I'm Heather." the blue eyed dirty blonde gave a sweet smile. "Just giving you a heads up before the teach comes and confiscated it." Heather whispered due to the continuous calling of names coming from the very front of the class.
"I'm Neveah, and thanks, last thing I need is my phone getting taken away." She puts her phone on vibrate and then in her bag. She smiles back at Heather and then glances over at Mr. Fischbach, but oddly enough is compelled to do a double take. Her jaw nearly fell to the floor beneath her as her eyes examined him all the way from his wavy black-brown-ish hair, down to his polished dress shoes. His devilish looks made Neveah's breath hitch and caused her to melt. She never really got a good look at her teacher, until now. She wasn't really expecting a good looking man who looked about in his early 20's, she was expecting way different.
