My heart taps with the beat of the rain
and as every drop hits the floor,
my heart aches.
I find myself sinking and crashing,
when I could be listening to the rain.
I feel every inch of my body shiver
as I re-imagine our walks in the rain.
Your smile enlightens as I say something witty.
Our minds connect because you and I were one.
The pattern of your footsteps are engraved in my mind
and as one more rain drop falls,
I see you.
Not as a person but as a fading memory.
Humankind tends to replace a person with another
and so to be normal,
I tried the same.
But with every rainfall,
my heart aches for your presence.
