Sapphira

It's been a couple of days since Kane left for Phoenix, and I have to admit that I've missed him greatly. Even though he's been sending me constant updates on his journey since he landed in Phoenix, I couldn't seem to relax until he told me they were out of Arizona and on the way home, with far more wolves than they expected to have. Telling me about how the youngest were infants with their mother, and the oldest being grandparents with their teenage grandchildren. Some of the most surprising were the warriors that came first, literally turning their back to Alpha Samson to follow him...

It's only made me more anxious for them to arrive, to not just see my mate and friends again, but to meet all the new members of our pack...to welcome them to their new home where they are safe to be themselves.

So anxious in fact, that I've seemed to make myself sick. For the past day and a half I have felt ill, my stomach less than pleased with me. I don't what it is, but so far it's either something I ate, or I've gotten the flu...either way I'm not feeling so hot, and it's taken some effort to keep the other wolves in my presence from finding out.

"Sapphira, honey? Are you alright?"

I look up from my place at Kane's desk to see Nonna looking at me worriedly, her strong eyes no doubt seeing the sheen of sweat that covers my tired face, and my jaw clenches as another wave of nausea hits me hard. I force myself to swallow it back before I force a tiny smile in her direction.

"I'm fine Nonna, just tired is all." I reply as convincingly as possible, but I can already tell that she sees right through my lie.

"No, you are not dear, you are far from fine. Let me get a look at you." She responds as she walks over to me and raises my chin, and she automatically notices that I'm even warmer than she is.

"You're running a fever dear, are you feeling sick?"

"Maybe...maybe a little..." I admit reluctantly, knowing that there is no point in lying to her, and she immediately pulls me up and out of my chair.

"I'm taking you down to the pack doctor dear, you need to be checked out. There aren't many things that can make a werewolf, or their marked mate ill, so we cannot take chances."

I follow her silently as she takes me downstairs, trying to focus on the words printed on Kane's hoodie that I'm wearing to keep from getting sick at the swaying motions as we walk outside to another building close by, and I can tell as soon as we walk in that it's the packs clinic.

"Dr. Williams? Can you help us with something?" Nonna calls out, and a young woman with short black hair and green eyes comes out, stopping as she recognizes me.

"Ms. Hera, Luna? How can I help you?" She asks, and Nonna ushers me towards her.

"Sapphira here isn't feeling well, and I think she needs to be checked over quickly."

Dr. Williams nods, "Follow me Luna, there's an open room right here." She says as she guides me to the room, but just as I step inside the nausea comes back with a vengeance, and I immediately find the nearest bathroom across the hall when I realize I'm not going to be able to suppress it again.

"Luna?" Dr. Williams asks as she stands outside the bathroom door, and I stand up from my place at the toilet to flush and wash my hands before exiting the bathroom, seeing both women looking concerned as I force a smile.

"I'm fine..." I murmur, but the doc only shakes her head.

"How long have you been feeling nauseous?" She asks as I go back to the room and sit down on the table, the paper crinkling underneath me.
