WE MUST PROCEED.
"I don't know about you, but—"Joy starts.
"I'm feeling twenty-two!" I sing.
"I want to fall asleep under the shade of a palm tree," Joy finishes, giving me a weird look.
"I want to sleep under the shade, too! It's so hot right now," Yeri agrees.
We walk back to Irene's car parked outside of the food market and she drives us to the closest beach. From there, we locate the palm trees with hammocks (bless!). We dash there and lay in the hammocks. The shade surely feels great.
I still feel disappointed, though. And defeated.
"You guys, how will I ever find out the meaning?"
Seulgi props herself on the hammock using her elbows and says, "You will, Wendy. Don't give up!"
Adding to the encouragement, Irene brings up her fist and exclaims, "Fighting!"
I chuckle and bring up my fist too.
"What do you guys look forward to during the summer?" I ask.
"Right now, I can't wait for the breeze," Joy answers.
"Why? It's not going to be cool," Seulgi interjects.
"So it'll be hot! Hot equals red and that equals 'Red Flavor'!" Yeri shouts.
"You're right!" Irene accords.
"I hope 'Red Flavor' is, after all, red," Seulgi says.
"It's worth a try. We can lay here until night, waiting for that hot breeze," I suggest.
"All right," Irene responds.
