5- The Good Part:

Heyyy anotha song fic bc I really like musicals but this one is actually a song fic -not a musical like TGS or HSM- but a song song fic where a real band song is involved (AJR anyone??) I wrote this last year -guhh I was so inspired last year- but then I stopped for a while and then bam! After reading fangirl78123 's story of RuLi I GOT ME INSPIRATION BACK -praise this hooman- and yeah so I finally finished this one so I'ma ready to post.

It's short (3000+ again) but I'ma be honest, this is also halfly inspired by a modern!Newtmas (NewtxThomas anyone??😉) fanfic from Archive of Our Own -which I forgot what was the name- but yeah, ANYWAAAAY have fun reading! God, I miss writing fluff about these two. It's actually been a while for me aha.

NOTE: I'm not sure if I've mentioned about this before, buuut their modern AU character names are; Ali Gonzalez (bc why not) and Rudy Russo (also why not aha)

NOTENOTE: As said, this is an AU so EXTREMELY OOC, BEWAAAREEE but eh, don't mind it. Just mind Rudy.

Rudy loves music, and he loves music class, and maybe he loves the shy, quiet, adorable boy next to him who scribbles in his notepad and blushes a lot. So it doesn't surprise Rudy's friends if music brought them together, does it?

Or, where they get assigned with each other and Ali tends to run away because he's scared to sing.

Rudy loves music. Music class is his favorite lesson to spend time in school. He loves writing his own lyrics but he also loves doing covers. His roommate Jet often makes fun of him over it but it's a passion and something he wants to do for the rest of his life because Rudy's ultimately certain music brings people together, correct?

Thursday, Rudy's favorite time of the day is the last lesson which is music class. Though he used to pay attention diligently and was -still is- the best in class -not to brag- he flunks up sometimes ever since some new kid showed up. Said kid is a shy, quiet, adorable young man around Rudy's age and sits next to him. The music class barely registers in the teen's ears anymore whenever the shy kid is around.

Ali is a 'kind-of-friend' of Rudy; they sit together in the back row and sometimes pair up whenever projects are discussed. Ali is, as stated, extremely shy. He rarely talks to anyone and always scribbles familiar lyrics in his little notepad -Rudy manages to take a few peeks sometimes- also, he seemingly blushes a lot and apparently likes wearing cozy outfits and tops it off with a signature navy blue beanie he wears almost every day.

This kid fascinates Rudy. A lot. He sometimes observes him as he writes messy words in a filled paper worksheet, meaning he feels creative. Whenever he gets frustrated, he runs his fingers through his hair and under his beanie to the point of leaving it disheveled and bites his lower lip to concentrate further.

"What'cha writing about?" Rudy whispers, head angled to Ali's way and looming over to glance at the text, "Can I see?"

"Maybe not," Ali replies quickly, closing the book shut and tosses the older boy an apologetic look, "It's personal."

Rudy pursed his lips, looking slightly offended yet curious, "But you're a great writer, aren't you?" He attempts to grab the book, only to get a slap on his hand, "Personal," Ali hisses before sliding the book into his backpack. He ignores Rudy for the whole lesson.
