State of Mind: Shocked

"Oh my god..." I choked on my tears. He's not gone? He's still here? How?

"Hey..." he whispered hoarsely. It sounded as if he had been crying. "Billie, it's been so long!"

Too long for that matter...

Billie embraced me in the biggest bear hug in the world. It finally felt like home again.

I finally felt safe.

State of Mind: Sad

"Dude, that was awesome!" Richie said. I only nodded. I noticed that everyone was talking amongst themselves and Richie asked, "Dude, what's wrong?"

I sat there for a moment. "I-I just miss y/n..." I stated quietly. "I've been feeling these... th-these w-weird feeling for h-h-her lately... I'm not sure what it is... could you help me out, Richie?"

"Dude, isn't it obvious? You have a crush on the girl! God Bill. I swear you're so oblivious sometimes."

I smiled. I finally knew what these strange feelings I had for weeks were. "Thanks, Richie. I'm going t-to go f-find y/n."

"Go get her, Bill."

"I will." And with that I started my voyage. I'm going to find y/n.

State of Mind: Tired, Confused, Happy

Billie and I spent the night together. We caught up, went to the movies, and played board games. Now I was in my new room, taking in the scent of vanilla and actually being happy for the first time in awhile. But a part of me felt empty...

I mean I know that I missed Beverly but something else was missing.

Maybe it was the weather back in Derry. Or maybe the fact that the losers taught me that I wasn't the only outsider.

I only shrugged.

"Y/N, time for dinner!" Billie called. I smiled. Dinner was my favorite part of the day, mostly because that's when Billie had the most free time. He was always so busy with work.

I walked into the kitchen, instantly getting hit with the aroma of spaghetti and garlic bread.

Billie always made the best spaghetti.

"How was work?" I asked Billie. "It was great, actually! I got a raise!" Billie replied happily. "Really? That's great, Billie!" He nodded.

"He was your day, Y/N?" He asked. "It was alright. I read a little and listened to music." Billie simply nodded.

"I thought you would have visited some of your old friends, Y/N."

"Friends? I had friends?"

"Yes, do you... not remember them?" I took a bite of my garlic bread, thinking long and hard.

Then memories came flooding back to me.

Jesus. I probably forgot because I was gone for such a long time and and because of the crazy amount of times I was beaten so hard that I had blacked out. I shivered at the thought...

I dropped my garlic bread. "Oh my gosh, I completely forgot! I have to go see them!"

I ran over to the front door, slipping on a pair of vans/converse (whatever you prefer), threw on an oversized hoodie, and I was out the door.

I can't believe I forgot!

I ran all the way to Mike's house and knocked on the door.

Nobody answered.

"Jesus fucking christ," I mumbled under my breath and knocked on the door even harder this time.

After another minute without an answer, I was just about to march in there myself, but just before I could even open the door, it swung open.

Mike.

We stood there for a solid moment, just taking in one another's presence then we wrapped each other up in a hug.

"God damn it, Y/N, I missed you so much. So, so much."
Mike started crying and I just kissed the top of his head.

"I'm here Mike, I'm back. I'm not going anywhere else," I hushed.

Mike pulled me inside. "Would you like something to drink?" He offered. I shook my head.

Mike pulled me downstairs and I realized that we were the only two in the whole house.

"Where's everyone else?" I asked.

"Mom and Dad are out on a date, Holly's with a babysitter, and Nancy's out with a friend." I nodded.

Mike let out a sob. Shit, something must have been wrong. It sounded so raw and like it was held in for the longest time.

"Mike, what's wrong?" I asked, immediately rushing to his side.

"Promise you won't judge me?" Mike asked in between sobs.

"Mike, you know I would never judge you."

"I'm gay..."
