I zip my suitcase up and place it on the floor

I zip my suitcase up and place it on the floor. I look around my walls. No photo's, wallpaper tearing apart from the edges.

Bed was stripped with the pillows still on top. I look around the room that was practically filled 2 days ago and now it's empty.

I sighed and smiled. This was it.

"Mia, you ready to go?" My mom shouted.

"I'm coming Mom." I said back. I checked the room for one last time and saw a photo there on my desk. I don't remember that there. I walk over to it and look at what it is. It was a printed out picture of me holding a phone. A selfie photo. I was there with a smile on my face, almost laughing and there was Sebastian resting against my head smiling.

I folded it into 4's before placing it in my pocket of my denim jacket. I then pulled the handle of my case up and walked out of my room. It wasn't be the last time, I will visit my dad but it won't be my home. I'm leaving so many memories in that room.

Like when Kurt and I stayed up all night watching videos on Beyoncé and conspiracy theory about all the most amazing legends being a part of the gay community.

Or the time when I slapped Rachel Berry across the face because she was being a selfish bitch. Or when I kissed Finn after trying to help him with his grades and it escalated.

We didn't go all the way but we went pretty far before I realized that I was being an asshole by doing it. That was the biggest fight I had with Rachel is all the years that we were friends.

I lifted the suitcase down the stairs. I reached the bottom and placed it on the floor.

"You ready?" I asked.

"Yup." I told her. She put the case in the car and I followed her out. I then stopped and said "Mom I think I forgot something. I quickly need to run back inside." She nodded and said "Okay. I'm gonna be in the car."

I went to walk back in when I asked "How the hell is the car staying there?"

"It's not, I'm giving it to someone else who paid for it and I got the money." I nodded and walked back inside. My dad was at work, he didn't want to see us off.

I walked into the house and I didn't need anything. I just wanted to see it once more. Even though it wasn't the end, it just felt like I was leaving a life behind.

I wandered into my kitchen and could see all my memories growing up in this house. In the nice friendly house.

I smiled and looked at the fridge. Empty, clear of all trace of me, of us.

••

Mia:
When my blood runs warm with the warm red wine
I miss the life that I left behind
But when I hear the sound of the blackbirds cry
I know I left in the nick of time
