"I swear, that Vanoss guy is like a vampire." I lift my head from the desk to stare at Smitty as he says this.

Brian lets out a nervous chuckle. "Vampires aren't real."

Realising that I'm listening, Smitty turns his head towards me, a serious expression on his face, and starts to explain some more.

"I mean have you seen how pale he is, he's practicality a ghost. Not to mention, That disgusting looking drink in History the other day! I mean come on, it was definitely blood, just saying." He whispers/shouts.

I stare intently at the boy with the wacky glasses, my eyebrows raised, not believing a word that comes out of his mouth.

"Well I think your'e an id-" Brian starts but I cut in.

"Okay, lets say he is a vampire..." I say looking over to Smitty, a slight frown upon Brian's features.

"...how is he able to walk in the sunlight?" I finish. Brian's raises his eyebrows slightly, a smile tracing his lips.

Smitty stops, opens his mouth slightly before closing it once more, looking down at the grey desk. His mouth opens once more.

"Some kind of potion or spell?" It's more of a question. Got him there.

"Look it doesn't matter how he's able to survive in sunlight, the only thing that matters is what I believe and that is that he is a vampire. So screw you guys." Brian rolls his eyes at Smitty's remark.

Unfortunately, at that moment, Wildcat, Ohm and Basically passed by us, cutting our conversation short. At the word vampire, their heads turned ever so slightly to face us, Ohm and Basically frowning, while Wildcat sped up towards his seat. Before long they were gone and in their seats at the back of the class.

We sat uneasily in our seats. Ever since my first day the Squad had kept their eyes on me like I had actually done something wrong. I didn't get dirty look or harassed or anything like that, no. They were just always watching like at any second I could rage out and murder the whole school.

                                                                                       * * *

As the days led on, heading for a bright and sunny Friday, there was still no sign of the eighth member belonging to the Banana Bus Squad, Delirious.

I sat in science on that sunny Friday paying no attention what so ever to Mr Baker but instead having a quiet conversation with fellow classmate, Mia. Thankfully no members of the crew are in my class.

Mia was chatting happily away to me. "-They're like the holes of the donuts when they cut them out and you can actually buy them! They're delicious! I can't believe you've never had them."

"Well by the sounds of it, they're gonna taste exactly like a donut. Soooooo why bother?" I ask.

The teacher, Mr baker, sets down the big phone that sits on his desk, having just finished a conversation with the school office.

Mr baker calls my name. 'Oh no what have I done? Am I in trouble? I'm not the only one talking...' I glance nervously at Mia. She's on her phone.

"It looks like your mother is here to take you home, Your'e to meet her on the east side of the school just on the other side of the oval. Lenard Street." He say.

'Oh thank the heavens.' "Oh. My mother. Yeah okay." All the tension leaves my body and I stand up from my seat and turn to Mia, a gentle smile upon my face, a smile in which she returns with her own. "Bye."
