My heart was pounding even faster than my head.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SISTER?" I shouted again. The nurse was just staring at me with sadness and shock at the same time.
"Jessica, listen to me. Some Nicholas kid in grade 11 pushed Taylor down the stairs. She hit her head and passed out. Some brain damage occurred. We don't know how long she will be out or if she will go into a coma."
I was speechless.
Did this actually just happen?
Did those words just come out of her mouth?
"She's going to the emergency and your parents are going with her." The nurse added.
"Oh my gosh! Seriously? That kid. I thought he was supposed to be a friend." I said with disappointment.
"Can you call my parents to come pick me up and bring me to the hospital?" I added.
"Ya, I called them earlier and they are coming soon." The nurse replied. I nodded. My heart was pounding even faster now. This isn't normal. Is Nicholas trying to get rid of us? It's still only the first week of school.
All of a sudden there was a knock on the door. With me still being strapped to the bed, the nurse answered the door. It was my mom.
"Hi Jessica!" She said waving to me.
"Hi mom!" I replied. My mom and the nurse talked for a bit then my mom took me in the car and we drove to the hospital.
After about 15 minutes we arrived at the hospitals emergency. We walked inside and down a hallway and up to a small wooden door. We walked inside and I saw Taylor lying on a bed. She looked like she was sleeping. Tears came to my eyes each time I blinked staring at her.
