Chapter 1: Promise?

Kate's POV

It was the day after me and Emaline kissed. I haven't talked to her since then because it was a Saturday and we forgot to make plans together. I want to call her but I don't want to come of as needy or clingy. So I waited until she called me. After 30 minutes she still hasn't called me. Have I possibly have done something wrong? I assured myself that I did nothing wrong and she is probably just bus- Ring  Never mind then. I quickly grabbed the phone and answered it.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," Emaline replied back, "I need tell you something."

"What is it?" I questioned

"Um about yesterday," she paused and from that I knew it was going to be terrible news, "I really like you."

"I really like you too," I quickly responded before she can say the next sentence she was going to say.

"Will you do something for me?"

"Anything."

"Promise you won't tell anyone we're going out?"

"Uh yeah sure."

"Are you okay with that? I mean if you're not we can-"

"No I'm definitely fine with that."

"Okay. So I was thinking do you want to have a sleepover with me tomorrow?" 

"Sure. Um do you want me to bring anything or like food or something. I mean I can bring some if you don't have any unless if-"

"Bring whatever you want. Don't overthink it. Wait Kate I think I have to go."

"Okay," I disappointingly said "bye."

"Bye Sweetie."

It ended. I sat on my bed later just lying down on my back as I stared at my ceiling. If Emaline doesn't want me to tell anyone would that mean that we can't act like a couple around others? The thought of it stresses me. I finally have a girlfriend but to others I am single. I truly adore and care about Emaline but I don't know if I'm capable of pretending as if she's just a friend to me. I cannot ruin this relationship so in the meantime me and Emaline are just friends around people.

It was the next day and I packed a bag for Emaline's sleepover. Cd player? CHECK! Headphones? CHECK! Toothbrush? CHECK! Goosebumps: Hall of Horrors? CHECK! I'm missing something. But what? Oh I know! I took my hair brush and stuffed it in my bag. Hairbrush? CHECK! 

"Dad!" I yelled loud enough for him to hear, "I'm going to Emaline's for a sleepover." 

I was ready to leave until my dad stopped me.

"You can't leave," I looked at him dead in the eye, "not until you say goodbye and give kiss to your dad."

"Dad!" 

"Fine just go."

"Okay thank you. Bye."

I went to my bike a rode to Emaline's house. I parked my bike near a tree. Her house was hug but not too big. it had a pool in the backyard and a patio. I knocked on the door. The door opened revealing a gorgeous face.

"Come in," Emaline said, "you're just in time."

"In time for what?"

She held my hand directing me to her room later releasing it once we were face to face to her door. She opened the door. I wasn't the only who was going to her sleepover. Jessica Betts as well as Leslie was sitting on her fluffy pink rug talking to each others.

"I have invited you to a sleepover to celebrate our creation of Intergalactic Lust. I wanted to celebrate it with just us girls." me and Emaline gazed into each others for moment , "So what not better to do a sleepover?"

"Yeah, totally" both of the girls said.

I expected just me and Emaline to have a sleepover together. This was unexpected and I was a bit disappointed. I just wanted to spend more time with her... alone.

"Kate?" Leslie said trying to snap me back to reality.

I looked down at her "oh yeah, um totally."
