A Mistake?

A Little Bump, But Noticeable

As usual, I get ready for the day by standing in front of my full length mirror, inspecting my stomach. I'm starting to show, it's a little bump, it shouldn't be noticeable. I shrug it off for this time and put one my white button down and my black work pants.

"Are you going in early, love?" Robin awakes.

"Yes." I smile.

"Why is that? It's our first day back from winter break. If anything, everyone is going to be like five minutes late." He replies.

"And we both know I am not like the other teachers." I point out.

"That's true. How are you feeling?"

"A little nauseous, but nothing that ginger ale can't fix."

"If you need anything at all today, please get me."

"I will. I'm going now. I'll see you later." I peck his lips and head to the school. While driving to school, I start to think about Robin and I. I've only been living with him for a month, but like I don't really know where we are. I mean, I sleep with him, we've fucked.... a lot. We kiss, snuggle; everything that a couple does... but we aren't a "couple?" I really don't know what to do, should I talk to him? I want to make us official.

I get to the school and walk in all alone. I love being the first person in the school. I get everything done, and I don't have to wait for the Planning room to be open, because it is when I'm here fresh and early. Being able to focus on nothing but my students really clears my mind. I love my students with all my heart, I might be a little hard on them, but it's because I know each one has potential.

My phone vibrates as soon as I sit down,

Robin <3: Hey love, I'm running a bit behind, if I email you my answer key, could you print it out with your stuff, please?

Me: Ofc!!! I'll talk you later, dear. Gotta get stuff done!

Robin: Alright, I'll see you later😘

I smile seeing that emoji, so I reply with the same exact one. Maybe I should change his name to something else in my phone. It's so boring that it's just "Robin." But anyway, I must being getting ready for the school day.

~Lunch Time~

"Hey beautiful." Robin walks in and a huge smile wafts over my face.

"Hey Robin. How's your day going?" I ask while writing on my whiteboard.

"Its a lot better now that I got come see you and our little one." He says while wrapping his strong, yet gentle arms from behind me.

"You know we can't be affectionate at school. We'll get into trouble." I smile and turn in his arms and peck his lips.

"Nah, Mary and David are affectionate with each other during the school day."

"They are?" I inquire.

"Yeah, during planning period and lunch. You'd see it more if you came to the planning room for lunch." He answers.

"Oh, okay then." I smile and kiss him again.

"Did you eat?"

"A little bit. I wasn't feeling too good so I stopped." I explain. 

"Are you feeling any better?"

"Yes. Thank you for caring for me." I bring him into a hug and lay my head on his shoulder. 

"Of course, my love." He kisses my head. We stay like this for a little while in a complete and beautiful silence.
