Wings

Storm sat on her bed, waiting for her wings to come in. As usual with painful situations, she had adjusted and gotten used to the pain. Her pain tolerance was higher. Storm sighed, rubbing her back. She womdered what her wings would look like.

Would they be bat wings, some sort of bug wings, bird wings, or the rare dragon wings?

Would her wings have claws, blades, armor plates, or nothing? Would they be strong in water or the air? Would they be strong, weak, or average?

Scratch that. NME made her, they would probably be strong.

Storm sighed, laying on her bed. It was midnight. The moon shone onto her, making her eyes shine, allowing her to see even better. Not that she couldn't see in the dark. To her, the dark was a blanket.

Sighing, Storm jumped down from her bed, staring out the window. The stars twinkled. Storm wondered how many had planets, how many were planets. She saw one of the people from the nearby town, a Sasuke, walking by. He usually did at this time of night. His name was Meshi or something like that.

Storm went to check in the mirror again. She could see shiny black claws coming out of her back.

So, it's bat wings, and I have claws. Blades would  have meant dragon wings. Claws mean bat wings. That's one question solved...

Storm stretched new muscles that were waking up, stretching her wings. They came out of her back, folded neatly.

They were large. They were the same color as Storm, but the membranes were a dark blue with little glowing specks to blend in with the sky, like a normal puffball's wings. Storm smiled, stretching her wings out to their full length. They made her look stronger than she did before.

The claws were sharp, but not too sharp. They would cause cuts if Storm wanted to harm something, but otherwise they would just dig into the skin. Her wings were strong, as proven by a quick flap, which send wind around the room. Storm smiled, then went to bed, finally able to sleep.

Storm came downstairs, stretching. Her wings required an extra stretch, as she wasn't able to move them until now. She went down to breakfast. Jack looked up, then looked at her wings.

"They finally came in."

Storm nodded. She got some cereal out of a cupboard, catching something that always fell in her wing. Putting away the fallen object, Storm got breakfast together for herself, Alicia, and Angie. Jack already had breakfast. Storm put away everything, and didn't need help reaching high areas because her wings helped her climb the shelves. Then, she jumped down, catching the three bowls of cereal and putting them on the table. As she ate hers, Angie came from her room. She looked at Storm's wings, assesing their strength.

"I think she's ready."

Jack looked up and nodded. Storm, confused, looked at them, her eye color shifting to orange. She then shrugged, turning back to her food, only to be tackled by Alicia. Panicking, Storm threw Alicia across the kitchen. That had become normal by now, so Angie and Jack didn't even look up from their conversation. Alicia laughed, getting up. "You've finally got wings, little miss jumpy!"

Storm sighed, her eyes quickly going to a light red color. "Don't call me that."

Alicia just laughed. Rolling her eyes, Storm got back to eating. Little did she know that she was going to begin training as a Star Warrior.
