It took you and Lucario an hour to get to the top, mainly with a lot of pushing on heavy and hard objects, but the two of you made it. All that was left was a staircase. Compared to everything else, the staircase was a breeze, but your legs were burning up. You were panting to try and get air into your lungs. Lucario stopped and turned back to you.
"Are you okay?" Lucario asked.
"Just... out of breath..."
"Come on, we're just about there, then you can rest." For not knowing who you were supposed to meet, he sure seemed dedicated to it. You decided to take the encouragement and keep climbing. After climbing up more stairs, you finally reached the top floor. It was just like in the dream. Crumbling pillars, debris scattered around, and the large hole in the tower ahead. As you felt the wind push against your face, you felt cool air rush into your lungs and rush down your body. As you sat down, you felt like your lungs were on fire, trying desperately to try and obtain oxygen. As you took in deep breaths, you felt the pain in your chest grow like a wildfire, but it stayed down to bearable levels.
"Made it..." You said catching your breath.
"So, who are we supposed to meet up here?" Lucario asked. After gaining a few breaths of air, you looked at Lucario.
"Like I said, I don't know." You said. "I was just told to come up."
"By-" He stopped himself, then thought of a different way to put it. "What told you to come up?" You looked out the breach in the wall, now completely regaining the rhythm in your breathing.
"Something." You said. "With blue eyes."
"Blue eyes?" Lucario questioned. "That's not very descriptive."
"Well, it's the best I've got." You said. "But she did seem tall."
"She?" Lucario asked.
"Yeah." You said. "It sounded like a woman... so I'd assume she would be one." Lucario folded his paws.
"So, besides blue eyes and the voice sounding like a woman, is there anything else you need to say?" Lucario asked. You thought for a second longer, then shook your head.
"No, nothing else." You said. "Just that I was supposed to meet her here at the top." He nodded his head, almost as if being suspicious.
"U-huh, sure..." Lucario said.
"I'm not lying!" You said.
"I never said you were." Lucario said. "I'm just concerned about this 'woman' you're talking about." You looked up at Lucario with a raised eyebrow.
"What? What do you think's going on?" You asked.
"I don't know." Lucario said. "Something just doesn't add up though." You gave a sigh and laid on your back. As you fell with a thump, you saw something falling directly towards your face! Before you had time to react, it landed smack dab on your forehead. It was something hard and heavy, that's for sure, but when you shut your eyes to dull the pain, you saw something flash inside your head. Something white, with blue eyes... The image only stayed there for not even a split second, long enough for you to register it. As you started rubbing your forehead, you looked at what landed on top of you. It was a circular stone, with some strange engravings.
"What the?"
"Are you okay (Y/n)?" Lucario asked. You rubbed where you had been hit on your head while holding the stone that hit you.
"Yeah, this just hit me smack dab in the head." You said. Lucario gave a sigh and walked over to you.
"Let me see it." You gave a sigh as you removed your hand. Lucario knelt and examined your forehead. "Besides a bruise, nothing else should form." You looked at the stone, a bit frustrated that it crashed on top of you. When you blinked your eyes, you saw two blue eyes staring at you from what looked like the inside of your eyelids! You flinched back, almost dropping the stone in your hand! A faint voice was heard, seemingly through the air.
"Hello (Y/n)..."
"(Y/n)?! Are you okay?" Lucario asked. Despite your instincts telling you to drop the stone, you were clenching onto the stone so hard that it should have shattered it. After staring at the stone for a minute, you calmed down your breathing, then blinked again. Nothing seemed to show up this time, but you could feel that same presence from when you were asleep. You were beginning to question what was going on when you caught your breath.
"It's me." Your hand clenched harder than you thought it could hold. Lucario saw you tense up.
"What's wrong?" Lucario asked. "Are you hurt?" When he placed his paw on your shoulder, you started to calm down. But the sensation in your chest was still there. Your hand was starting to relax, and you closed your eyes again.
"Let's go." You said.
"B-but what about this girl that your supposed to meet?" Lucario asked. You opened your eyes, and for a split second, you thought you saw something in the corner of your eye. When you looked over to see what it was, it faded away, but you could definitely see the eyes.
"Let's just go." You said. "I think..." You placed your hand to your head, trying to steady your thoughts. "I think... she..." You gave a sigh. Your brain was fried, no use in trying to even pull a white-lie. You stood up, then placed the stone in your pocket. Questions would have been scrambling in your head, but that was if your head would work. "It's starting to get dark, and I've got to explain to Mom and Dad about what I've told you." Lucario walked up beside you.
"We walked all the way up here to meet her, and now you're just going to walk away?" Lucario questioned.
"I'm not walking away!" You snapped. Lucario flinched back, surprised by your outburst. After breathing for a second, you calmed yourself down and gave another sigh. "I'm sorry, it's just... none of this is making sense. Too many thoughts in my head right now." You started to walk forward, heading back down the stairs. Lucario kept pace with you.
"Is... there some way I can help?" Lucario asked. You looked at him as you descended the stairs, then looked back down the stairs.
"Maybe." You said. "But that's if we can get past Mom and Dad."
