As soon as the elevator opened I was bombarded with questions from Ruby.

"What happened?"

"Are you okay?"

"Did he fire you?"

I stopped at my desk and she stood in front of me with a worried face.

"No, he digs not fire me."

"GIrl you had me scared." She styled in relief.

"What's that?" She said pointing to the papers in my hand.

"Oh yeah, he gave me the promotion papers. I spilled 

"OH, MY GOD!" She screamed 

"Girl quite down...got these people looking at me like the crazy," I said the last part looking at a few of the people.

"Girl congratulations, I'm so happy for you." She said hugging me.

"Thank you, girl," I said hugging her back.

"Excuse me Ms.Black and Ms.Broxs, I don't mine interrupt your little moment but this is your job, not some hug fest. Now get to work."  He said sternly.

Me and Ruby partied from our hug and gave Mr. Williams a dirty look before sitting down in our chairs and getting back to work.

When I was finally done with my work it was around 8:32 pm and everyone had gone home, except for Ruby how I had to convince that I would be fine on my own left.

I stood from my chair and started organizing my things on my desk so I wouldn't be getting trouble for having a dirty desk and plus I don't like my stuff being unorganized. When I was done I turned off the off the little light that was at my desk and grabbed my things from out of my purse and laptop and began to walk out the office door.

I then walked down the hallway and pushed the down button on the elevator. When it finally stopped and opened I was shocked to see Mr.Smith in there.

"Oh, I didn't know anyone else was on this floor." He said 

"Yeah just had to finish up something that's all," I said while walking into the elevator.

"Are you going down." 

I nodded and he pressed the number one button and we stood in an onward silence for a while before he started talking again.  

"Good to know that you take your work seriously." He said 

" Yes I do take my work very seriously," I said in a serious but soft tone.

" Don't tell anybody but I think  that you are going to get the promotion."

"Really!" I said excitedly 

"But you didn't hear it from me." He said laughing a little.

When the door finally opened we both stepped out and started walking toward the main entrance.

" Are you walking home this late?" He asked

"Well, I was going to take the bus," I said 

"No, I'll take you it is too late at night for a pretty woman like you to be out all by her self."

"Thank you for the offer but I can take care of myself," I said with an admitted.

"No, I didn't mean it like that I Just meant that I don't want anything to happen to you." He said trying to convince me.
