Once upon a time, there was a boy
His mother would whisper over his crib
"Angels are watching over you"
And I waited, and I watched.
The boy grew up and had no faith
In God
Or in me.
Once upon a time, there was a broken human,
I took him by his arm, and gripped him tight,
I raised him.
And while I gave him faith,
He gave me my humanity.
Once upon a time, there was a man,
And like his mother once did, I stood over his bed
And I whispered to him,
"I'll watch over you".- A.D.
