-Chapter 28-

"...is perfectly fine. The drug, thankfully, doesn't seem to have effected her. Your husband will be pulled from his unconscious state in a few minutes. He's going to be a bit loopy, though."

I let out a soft, nervous and almost happy sigh through my teeth, relieved that everything was going to be fine, even after everything had seemed to go to hell.

Another tragedy narrowly missed. How much longer can we keep doing this...?

"So..." I said shakily, scratching the back of Kawaii's ear subconsciously, and being awarded with the relaxing rumbling of her purring against my chest. "It's like he'll be on laughing gas?"

"Kind of." She said. "The drug he was injected with wasn't too serious, but it did include some side effects which can effect him afterwards. After he wakes up, he may have a bad headache, or simply get dizzy. He could also have nausea, panic attacks, antiety, high blood pressure, nose bleeds, paranoia, insomnia, memory loss and cold or blue fingers."

I nodded slowly as she explained the side effects thoroughly, making my eyes widen at the large list. It went on and on, her rambling going on for minutes on end with all the possible things that can happen to my husband and child.

"I suggest keeping him in bed over the next few days." She finished up quickly. Ending the list just as quickly as she had begun. "I also suggest staying home with him, if this person comes back."

Her.

"Yeah, definitely." I let out the softest chuckle, hugging kawaii a little closer to my chest in instinct "I wasn't gonna leave him any time soon."

She grinned at me, before nodding quickly. This entire time she had a notepad out, writing down everything as she spoke and continuously glancing up at me. Now, she shoved the notepad into her front pocket and turned around, heading towards the doctor that was tending to Ty.

"Adam....?" Asked a weak voice, and my eyes jumped from the previous woman to my husband, who was slowly sitting up and looking around groggily. His hand darted to his head and he groaned, pulling himself upright and cradled his head in his hands.

"Ty," I gasped, quickly placing down Kawaii and jogging over to him just to have her following in hot persute while her tail flicked back and forth in anticipatience.

I took Ty's hands in mine, lowering them from his head and entwining our fingers, sittings right next to him on the bed. He scooted over, wincing whenever he looked up at the light and keeping his head trained down on the sheet.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked quickly as soon as he saw Ty's hot-chocolate eyes flutter open, his own notepad whipped out and pen pressing down on the paper, waiting to be used.

One of Ty's hands slipped from mine, but the other one stayed latched on with a death grip. His hand slowly raised to his head once more, rubbing the sides of his temples. He finally looked up, obviously so confused of what was going on. He looked around the room, eyes riddled like a maze with what was going on.

It took Ty a few moments to regain his voic, but he slowly answered, stuttering lightly. "My head hurts...I'm a little dizzy and I feel nauseated, but other than that, I think I'm good." He looked up at me, staring into my eyes before turning and burying his head into my stomach, as if begging for protection.

I immediately wrapped my arms around him in instinct, holding the back of his head with one hand and holding his body against mine with the other.

"Sky..." He mumbled against my chest. "What happened...?" His voice was shaky and obviously unsure, his fingers curling around my shirt and holding it tightly as a ball in his hands. His hot breaths hit my chest in a periodic rythme, causing me some comfort, as I knew he was still alive.
