As we got near the beach, there was a thin morning fog and it got cold inside of the bus, we both sat in the cold air and it felt good. The bus had left us next to a local gas station near the coast and we walked towards the pier that was about half a mile from the gas station.

Nearing the afternoon, the fog dried up mostly. It was a nice day for the beach, it was hotter than usual, the air felt sticky, but there was a swell breeze. The pier was visible all along from where we walked. The ferris wheel was still off.

From the street, we climbed down the rocky dunes, it was alone except for an older couple both laying down on a large beach towel. They were reading together under a parasol.

I laid out our own towels in a neat row. We undressed in front of each other, both of us wore our swimming garments under our clothes.

We then ran towards the ocean, when we got to the water it was cold and we both shouted, she splashed me and the freezing water ran down my back. We embraced and collapsed onto the beach, I held her head towards me as the waves ran under us. When we kissed I tasted mostly salt and sediment but still I felt her lips against mine.
