The Subtle Truth

You never know anyone

What they hide
And what they show

What they were
And what they are

What they say
And what they mean

You never know anything
The very piece of furniture you are sitting on right now
Was once a beautiful door in a royal palace
Prior to that it was a part of a sailors ship which went around the world
And prior to that it was a huge tree in the middle of the forest
And of course it was once a little plant
Which sprouted from a tiny seed

The glorious certainity of this world is its uncertainties

Now shall I assume that I know you
And you know me.
