Except we didnt get home before the storm. I'd say we were about half way to the house and we heard some "rolling thunder". It didnt bother us too much, rain is pretty common here in Illinois and besides, we were maybe ten minutes from the house. I kept tripping over my own feet and that was really not helpful in this situation. I know my mom only wants whats best for me, but when she knew it was going to rain but she still left anyway? No way that she was going to get away with this. Im not sure if she knew the weather forecast or not, but I had a strong suspicion she knew that it would be raining. Suddenly, it started to drizzle. Now, I wouldnt be bothered by this normally, but today was one of the days I was actually wearing makeup and I didnt need it running all down my face. I didnt have on mascara or eyeliner, or anything on my eyes for that matter because Im always wearing sunglasses on my face to cover up my closed eyes, but I had on almost every other thing a full-faced makeup routine consisted of.
I know this sounded really girly, but I only wear make-up on special occasions, that meaning whenever I left my house. It didnt happen a lot. I really hate people. Plus, besides the fat that I disliked most of humanity, I needed help to go anywhere. Kate was taking online classes for college and she was practically my only way to go places outdoors, unless I was going into my backyard. I enjoyed it there, it was always so peaceful. And I wouldnt get yelled at for drumming on things.
The rain slowly became worse, and I could only hope that we werent close to home, just to make my mother feel worse.
"Hey Kate? Are we in our neighborhood yet?" I shouted out, the rain almost drowning out my voice.
"Yeah, just turn left with me and we'll be heading up the driveway. Are you going to go inside or are you sitting on the porch?" She asked me. We were up on the porch already. I guess our driveway is pretty short, then.
"I actually have to tell you something. Wanna know know or later? It can wait, but I need to get this off my small chest really soon, and I dont need that woman inside the house up there interupting me."
"Well you know, she would most likely interrupt us out here than anywhere else in the house. How about we get changed out of these clothes and I can take care of your face and hair while you talk about it. Okay?" Kate offered.
"But-" I started.
"But nothing. That wasnt a suggestion, that was a command. Come on Blindy, lets go get changed." She laughed. Kate opened the door, that was surprisingly unlocked, and quickly walked up towards the stairs that were just to the right. We tried to sneak up and not draw attention to ourselves. That didnt work out very well, though.
"Asher? Kate? Why are you both soaking wet? Your mom said you were both in the basement." Dad spoke up. I heard Kate sigh.
"She told you we were in the basement? She told you we were in the basement?" I was starting to get hysterical. I was soon laughing like a hyena on steroids. Kate was trying to calm me down but it just wasnt working. I was going haywire, I couldnt believe she lied like that. She knew we would have to walk in the rain, and she knew we would get soaking wet. She knew it all along, and decided to lie to my dad. I couldnt fucking believe her.
"Asher. Ash! Calm down, please! Dad, talk to mom, and when your done, come to our room. And please, for god sake, dont bring her with you." Kate commanded. I had quieted down by the time we went back over by the stairs, but my head was still spinning with thoughts.
We walked down the hallway and went into the second to last room. I could hear shouting coming from my parents room, but I didnt really care too much for it. Maybe my dad would finally tell her off for what shes done. I could hear Kate looking around in my dresser, trying to find me some pajamas. She found me some shorts that felt nice, and handed me a shirt that had the sleeves cut off. I was almost certain it was my 5sos band tee from 2012 that said "Derping Since 2011" on it. I was told it was black with a yellow logo on it. Most of my shirts didnt have sleeves on them. I found that it was uncomfortable to wear it with them.
I took my time changing, first finding my way to my bed. The bed was bouncy and had very comfortable sheets on it. Kate picked them out for me, said they were black with white polka dots on it. Kate had given me a change of underwear and a new bra for me to put on so I did those first. Slipping the tee shirt over my head, I realized that even if I did accept to go to London, I wouldnt have anyone to go with me to help me out.
"Hey Kate, would you like to go to London with me?" I asked. I heard the shuffling around the room stop and silence replace the faint noises.
"What are you on about? Something about London? Why did you even ask me if I wanted to go there? Does this have something to do with the news you wanted to tell me outside?" She questioned slowly, as if I coudnt understand her.
"Alright, well I'll tell you the situation."

"So basically Jace told me that it was my decision only and to tell him in a week. I realy want to go, but-"
"But you dont have someone to help you out over there, and your going to ask me to go." She finished for my. I nodded and she sighed. "Ash, you know I woud love to go, but I think there are maybe two problems with this. One, do you even know anything about the drums? And second, I hav school."
"One, you take school online, dingus. Two, yes, as a matter of fact, I do. Do you remember when I was maybe seven? And I went to that guy for lessons for fun? You didnt live with us yet but we would talk about it whenever I saw you guy? He taught me the basics of drumming. He taught me about all of the parts of the drum set, I know which stick size is for me, I know how to count beats, I know a ton of beat patterns. Kate, I know a ton of fills so the music doesnt get boring..." I trailed off.
"Sure I might be blind now, but I went back to the guy. A couple years ago, you went with me! How could you forget that? Man, and I thought I was the only one with head problems, jeezzzus man.
"But anyway I went back to him and he helped me figure out the basics again, but without the use of eyes. Its pretty much similar I guess, doesnt feel too different. I may have, kinda, just a little bit, forgotten to mention that to Jessy though." I sighed, running my fingers through my semi-dry hair. "He thinks that I'm a beginner then. Not much to complain about, the background will just help me in the long run. Do you think it'll matter too much if he didnt know how experienced I was?"
"No I dont think it will. If anything, he will be suprised. This will just help him and you learn quicker. Do you want me to dry your hair and clean up that face of yours?" She asked me, grabbing my hand to pull me up. I ran my other hand over my face. I could feel the makeup smudge off. Gross.
