I wake to Sally jumping on my bed shouting, "Wake all the niggers up time to get them in the field!"
"How ignorant!" I spat at Sally as I wiped the sleep from my eyes.
May sat up, throwing her blankets to the side.
"Lets go! Don't just sit there!" Sally shouts as she pulled me out of bed.
Half of me wanted to slap the shit out of her but the other half was curious as to where we were going.
May follows after us as we exit the room. We turn left down the hallway, from the living space. Sally points at the camera above our heads to the right.
"When the camera turns left, run to the other side fast as you can." Sally murmurs. The three of us wait patiently until the camera turns its head left until we bolt to the other side.
"Now!" May hollers dragging me along as she ran to the other side.
Now, we were facing the opposite side from the kitchen. Somehow, I was still tired possibly from the pills that dissolved in my body yesterday night. The real sleeping pills.
A lot of kitchen staff members scurry all over the place with silver trays. Patients wait determinedly for breakfast. Nurses are roaming the halls forcing blue pills down our throats. Everyone is busy this morning luckily.
"Sally?"
"Yes asshole?"
"What are we doing?" I whisper lowering my height, avoiding another camera.
"It's a surprise. Now shut up and duck down against this wall." She orders.
"Why is she so bitchy?" I ask May.
She shrugs her shoulders. The three of us sat still against the wall near the kitchen hall.
"We can make it across at 9:31. During that time, people will begin to exit and leave the opposite direction from the entrance." May exclaims.
"Wow, I'm impressed." I say praising May.
Sally reaches out to May's hand and placed a gentle kiss on it. Instead of questioning it, I just watched the clock.
"Now!" I yell, dragging May's arm with me. We approach this corridor. We turned left into this dark hallway.
"Find a switch along the wall." Sally suggests.
I place my hands along the wall, feeling for a object that flips up and down.
"Found it!" May hollers from across the room.
"Thata girl!" Sally praises.
The lights lit up causing me to squint my eyes. Soon, my eyes adopted to the bright lights making everything back normal. We were in a office. Possibly the upper chair office. Someone who is in charge.
"We shouldn't be here..." I warn.
"Oh don't be a chicken Joanne. Help me search for a key with the initials OO." Sally says rummaging through the desk drawers.
"OO?" May says hinting curiosity.
"Yes. It stands for outside only." Sally responds. Outside only? What does that mean? What is outside that we can't know about?
I exchange a look with May before adding, "What do we need outside?"
Sally looks at me with a smirk. She planned on breaking us out.
