Ch.15

"What the fuck did you do to your hair? I like it!" May says happily.

"I want to change and thought maybe this was a start. The anticipation was killing me." 

I throw myself on my bed and just stare at the ceiling. 

"May?"

"Yes Jo?"

"Are you happy?"

"I think so." She shrugs her shoulders.

"I'm hearing these sounds in my mind that I haven't heard before. I think it's a sign. I want the green light." I exclaim.

"So go get it!"

"May if I leave before you do, just know I'll never forget you."

"I won't forget you either when the time comes. Goodnight Joanne."

"Goodnight May."

I wake to my aunt June shaking me excitedly. I'm met with a huge smile.

"You get to come home today. Jen thinks you're ready!" Of course she does after our talk. She thinks getting rid of me would silence me and she's wrong.

June pulls me out of my bed and drug me to the living room. All of my things were already packed. I saw May standing there with her things too.

"You get to leave too?!" I let out eagerly.

"Yup! Ugh, I'm going to miss this place." May says holding onto her blanket.

Dr Jen and Kyle approach us with paper work. Kris Jenner is working hard but Jen is working harder.

"Here's your release papers." Jen hands May and I some paperwork.

"So that's it? You just randomly decided that you want us to go?" I ask Dr Jen unsure of her plan.

"Sometimes I get tired of looking at people... So goodbye!" Dr Jen says waving her right hand and used the left to flip us off.

"Joanne?" Kyle interjects.

"Yes Kyle?"

"I want you to know that before our carnival I was gay...now I don't know what to feel."

"Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you figure it out." I reply.

"Also, May told me some interesting information about this ward. It'll definitely be shut down." Kyle adds. This is literally the most exciting news all day.

May engulfs me in a final hug before disappearing outside with her family. The other lunatics just has smiles on there face.

"Bye assholes! Go trip over a knife!" I say as we exit the iconic Ward.

As June and I enter her car I saw the homeless girl from the McDonald's parking lot entering that prison.

"Remember me? The girl you scared half to death?" Uh?

"How could I forget? Yes I remember you! What brought you here?" I ask her with confusion plastered on my face.

"I tried to kill this girl because I found out she was the reason for my sister Pat dying." The girl says flatly.

"Sorry to hear that...but isn't that attempted murder? You should be sent to jail or something." I exclaim.

"Well, come to find out, I have a serious mental condition so that's what saved me. I mean, how bad could this possibly be?" After she ask her question, another girl starts rolling down the stairs shouting, "When he fuck me good I take his ass to red lobster!"

"You have no idea..." I respond jokingly.

It didn't take me long to figure out that she was talking about Sally. I saw another taxi pulling up and Sally exited with her hands full of her belongings.

"Couldn't help yourself chicken shit?!" I joke with Sally.

"See ya later alligator! Please be better than me! Love you white trailer trash!" Sally yells.

"As for you, Pat's sister... we're going to have a lot of fun." Sally murmurs to the girl.

I wave goodbye before pulling off. Hopefully Sally gets out soon...or not. I wish to see May again. 

I get into the car and I'm met with cold air blowing in my face.

June pulls off and starts driving down the long driveway. My favorite song was playing by Halsey.

"I'm bad at love!"

June laughs as my cringy voice strike her ears.

"June?"

"Yes love?"

"Thanks."

"Thanks for what?"

"I guess sending me here. I found the thrill of it all."

June smiles as she finally makes it out of the lot.

"So...do you like the new hair?" I ask her.

"It's pretty. You seem happier so I'm glad you made the decision. Anyways, what do you want to do next?"

My new life was about to begin.

"Ummm...Oh!"
