Chapter 1: Backstory

Lorelai Victoria Gilmore was born to Richard and Emily Gilmore of Hartford Society. Her parents were strict but loving people and Lorelai rebelled a bit but knew she had her parents love no matter what. At 17 years old she realized she was pregnant by her boyfriend of three years Christopher Hayden. She told Chris first followed by her own parents. Chris didn't know how to feel or what to say and said their parents would know what to do. Lorelai stood firm that she was keeping the baby rather he was in or out. She went to Emily next, her and her mother had a rocky relationship but she knew when shit got rough her mom would be there. "Mom I'm pregnant!" She told her in tears. "What? Lorelai that's not funny. I swear your jokes sometimes." Emily rambled out before realizing Lorelai was not joking. "Oh Lorelai, I'm sorry I thought it was one of your jokes." Emily said pulling her daughter in for a hug as she cried for what seemed to be hours. "Mom I was careful I don't know how I let this happen, I mean Chris is great, he's fun, but he's not dad material at least not yet." She sobbed as she told her mom all her fears. "Oh Lorelai, you are an amazing young lady and I know you can do anything the choice is all yours no matter what Christopher or his parents decide. That baby is growing inside your body." Emily told her holding her daughter tight. "I'm keeping this baby mom." Lorelai blurted out. "Okay dear." Emily answered. Emily and Lorelai told Richard together, Lorelai was always a daddy's girl, he wasn't happy but he was as supportive as Emily. Their next move was a dinner with all of them with the Haydens. Straub exploded, and Francine cried while Lorelai and Christopher sat on the stairs listening. By the end of the night the Haydens were leaving with documents to terminate Christopher's paternal rights already being drawn up. Chris and Lorelai said goodbye because Chris would be on the next flight to an all boys boarding school across the world. Lorelai graduated top of her class at Chilton and although she was accepted into Yale she opted for Community college to make it easier to take care of her unborn child. In October she gave birth to her daughter who she named Lorelai Leigh Gilmore and nicknamed Rory. Her and Rory moved into the pool house at her parents house to have some space and Lorelai took a two year business course while raising Rory. Emily and Richard helped financially and emotionally. They hired a nanny to help while Lorelai was at school. Lorelai has just graduated college and has began making plans to open an Inn with her best childhood friend who has a degree in culinary art, Sookie St James. Sookie has been living in a small town near Hartford, Stars Hollow as the local Inns lead chef. Rory is Lorelai's best friend she tells her everything although she's only two. Over the last two years with all of her parents help Lorelai and Emily have become extremely close.
