Vince growled, nearing us with a great amount of caution. Nathaniel held me in his hold, slowly taking small steps backwards until our bodies smacked into the old wooden walls. Being alarmed, Vince jumped onto Nathaniel, but I pushed him off.
"Stop it Vince!" I pleaded, extending my arm to help Nat to his feet. Vince turned around and eyed me, just before he lurched. He swung his paw at me, but at the same time, I had averted myself away, so he only had the chance to claw my cheek.
I fell backwards, and Vince was once again moving towards us. My heart raced in my chest until I had the courage to run up to him and wrap my arms around his husky grey neck. "Vince. I'm Red." I whispered, and he swayed his neck like a wet dog. I lost my grip and ended up hitting my back against the opposite wall. I grunted and Nathaniel stood up.
"I told you not to be so rash." He teased, smiling as if nothing was wrong. "Come get me wolfy." Nathaniel ran out of the classroom with Vince following shortly behind. I curled up in the red cloak and softly cried, knowing for sure that my Vince was gone forever.
-----
I woke up to someone's gentle hands deftly weaving into my dark hair. I can feel the cold winter breeze from outside as if the door was still open.
"Red." I heard, and rolled over to see Vince in human form, yet completely calm.
"Vince." I cried, wrapping my sore arms around his neck and embracing a steady hug until he pushed away,
"Red, you have to kill me before I hurt you." His blue eyes were now a swollen red as if he had been crying for sometime now.
"Vince..?" I began to question, but it was simple enough to find out on my own from the trail of blood at the doorstep and on Vince's clothes.
He hugged me again, and sniffed my hair. "I killed Nathaniel." He spoke so straight forward, but I knew he was also upset about this mishap. "Run away Red, this is no place for a girl like you."
I hung myself onto his neck, but between his normal werewolf strength, it was useless. Tears came out of my eyes, but he still managed to wipe them away.
"Remember how upset you were when the king accused you of cannibalism? If you don't want the same thing to happen again, then go!" He shouted more towards the last few words of his sentence, but I sat in front of him. "Go if you want to live!" He begged for my departure, however, I was never going to leave him again.
"No." I mumbled, as the door swung back open again and a guard with a gun filled the sweet breeze from before with a dull, musty, sulfate scent.
"Lady Audrey, the king has been looking all about for you. Seems like your friend Nathaniel was shredded to pieces by that being your besides." The guard smirked, as if being proud of what he said.
"Only dimwitted boys, not men, constantly chase after girls they know they cannot have, for that is the simplest of all logic behind both the king's and your actions previously. Like a checkerboard, you can only make a single move at a time, each move risks the life of your precious king if your not as careful as you believe." I speak my mind.
I'm now in the guard's face, as Vince looks at us both, puzzled by my words.
He takes me by the neck and laughs. "Dimwitted? Is that so? Those beast's murdered your family, and yet you want to care for them?"
"They are more of a family to me than the king as a spouse." I waved him off. "If you have nothing else to say, then please go stick your useless brain in a bucket of feces someplace off by a manger."
The guard placed his hand over my mouth, making it more difficult to breath and Vince tried jumping at him, but the guard used me as a shield. "If you want to kill me, you must get past this trash talking maiden." He began walking, dragging me along, which must've been easy since the guard was a very heavy man, weight wise.
I bit the little skin on his finger and he dropped me onto the fresh falling snow. A tiny bit of blood fell from his finger onto the snow before me, but I continued running, calling out for Vince.
When I was at least a distance away, I fell onto the snow to catch my breath. Remembering the area as the one where Snow had found me, I planned to find her house and tell her of my newest plan.
----
"So your telling me, your going to risk it all for the sake of Vince being alive? Sounds risky, tell me more." Snow White smiled, blowing at the steam from her cup of tea in her hand as we sat around the small wooden coffee table in her family room.
"I'm going to assassinate the king, and since your the only princess from afar, you will have the chance to rule with the prince from the neighboring kingdom that you've so madly fallen for." I explained, and she thought for a brief moment.
"What am I to do?"
"Tell Vince to not get in the way."
--------
I snuck into the kingdom, holding onto my knife. I slowly found myself walking up the staircase into the castle, then I was in the king's throne room. He sat before me, as if he was expecting me for sometime now.
"A little birdie told me that you bite. " He joked, standing up and walking to me. "Why won't you just perish already?"
"Why can't you?" I yelled, jabbing him with my knife, but he had reflexes and grabbed onto my blade with a strong force.
"Your persistent. I love that about you." I dropped the knife when he pushed closer, making our lips meet for the very first time. They were crusty, and dry. He kissed me like he meant it. Like there was a craving for love somewhere deep in that sack of fat. I almost felt bad for him, if there wasn't a blade piercing both our bodies between this deep lustful kiss.
