Revolution!

I sat in the room of the Queen's palace waiting for one of my generals to arrive. I sat straight up, the stretch from my past pregnancy still showing but not as much as it had a few months ago. I sighed as the Queen, King, and my General, General Lucas Jason, entered the room.

General Jason sat beside me. "How are you today, Kinder?"

"I am well. Thank you General."

"We never gave this man any ranking so what do you mean by calling him General?" King Howard asked.

"No beating around the bush. We are only here today to give you a choice. You can step down voluntarily and live on what you can carry when you leave my house or we can remove you... forcefully..." I threatened without saying what was truly meant. I had no problems with sending this family of blood lusters to their graves and would even dispatch them myself if needed.

"How dare you, you insolent girl!" The Queen set her hand over her heart. "You order us to surrender? What is this? The French revolution?"

"He's on our side. So are Canada and America and Germany. However, you're already powerless," I said. "Our new laws and government have been active for two months now."

"This is an outrage!" The King pounded his fist on the arm of his chair. "You have no right to be doing this. This is a betrayal."

I stood silently for a moment. "No, Howard, the betrayal has not happened on my part, only yours. You two betrayed our country years ago by taking the throne instead of setting up a proper and unbiased government as you're father promised." I pointed at them. "You can either be removed now or we can remove you at a later time."

"Neither will happen and you will not be leaving this house again!" the Queen stood so she was face to face with me. Being taller than me had worked for her in the past because I was afraid but now I was standing for my people and they all had confidence enough on their own to stand up to this woman.

I looked up into her face. "I don't live here anymore... not while you're here." I looked back at the General. "General Jason. Let's go."

He stood. "Yes, ma'am."

A sudden sting was place across my face that made my eyes water. "I said you're not leaving," Mary said.

"Yes, Mary, I am. Goodbye." I pushed past her causing her to fall back into her chair. I swept from the room with General Jason behind me.

"What now?" he asked as we walked down the hall.

"They have refused to surrender. We go with Plan Italy." I kept my head high even though the sting of my cheek told me there was a red mark on my in the shape of a hand. "Let's report."

I stepped out of the horse dawn buggy in the black day-maid dress I had been given. I set my hand on the gun hidden in the folds of the skirt. This would be our one and only strike which is why I had insisted on doing it myself.
