Penelope's POV:

A few weeks have passed since San Francisco and I've gotten a few emails from the Grammy's coordinators. They all basically said that I should go and that I can't show up in jeans or anything casual.

"Hey, I have a surprise for you" my mom started as she entered my room.

I looked up from the most recent email from the Grammy coordinators and saw that my mom was carrying a white box.

"So I know that we haven't been the most supportive of you but I want to change that" my mom continued as she handed me the box.

I looked down at it and looked back up at her. Her eyes were full of hope and her smile was genuine, I had to open the box.

"Thank you, mom" I stated as I opened the box.

Within the content of the box was a blue, sequin dress. It was stunning, truly, but it looked very expensive.

"Mom, I can't accept this. It probably cost a fortune!" I remarked as I tried to hand her the box back.

"No, no, no. I contacted Elie Saab and she made this dress for you for free. I just- I haven't been supportive of you and I'm sorry, your dad just has this influence on me."

My mom looked truly sincere and apologetic.

I looked back down at the dress, "I just don't even know if I want to go."

"Honey, you're nominated for a Grammy! You have to go."

I sighed and pulled the dress out of the box, I guess this will work.

"Okay, but only because I've already prepared a speech."

My mom laughed and kissed the top of my head.

"The red carpet lineup starts at 5 pm so you better be ready at 3:30 pm in order for you to get there on time."

"Mom, aren't you going to take me there?"

My mom didn't say a word as she left my room but she did give me a wink. I didn't think too much of it, I just walked downstairs to get breakfast before I got ready.

By the time I returned to my room, it was 12 pm (I sleep in late) and I found two strangers.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Elie Saab sent us to do your makeup, you have to look as beautiful as her dress" one of them stated.

I hesitantly sat down at the portable vanity that they happened to bring.

"Since this is your first red carpet, we are going to play it safe. You cannot do anything risky, Elie wants you to be this perfect princess" the other one said as she started to pull my hair back and comb it.

I nodded, shyly, I was too scared and nervous to object to anything Elie wants me to do.

"But still remember to have fun, it's not everyday that you go to an event like this" the one who started on my makeup said.

"Okay" I mumbled as I took out my phone.

I started to play on my phone as the two ladies worked on my makeup and my hair. They pulled my hair into this weird braid thingy and put light makeup on my face with the exception of two blue jewels on my right temple. The makeup lady also put white nail polish on my fingers. Once we finished, it was already 3 pm. The ladies helped me into my dress and put on last final touches.
