So much has happened since you left Harry. You cried when their songs were on the radio. You cried when they were performing in town. You cried when Zayn got up and left. You cried when the remaining four officially separated. You're surprised you have any tears left.

You stopped using Twitter and other social media a long time ago. It was just easier that way. Every now and then, you can't help but look up Harry's name. You watch his interviews. His late night appearances. His music videos.

You're so proud of him. Happy for him. And sad for what you've lost. You wish you could contact all the boys and make sure they're okay. But your tie with them was severed a long time ago. To make it worse, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Harry feels an overwhelming mix of emotions being in your hometown again. Knowing he's so close to you, only a 10 minute drive from your house, it drives him crazy. But he pushes the emotions down. He's gotten used to that over the years.

After one year of complete silence from you, his confusion over the break-up developed into resentment. After two years, however, a member of his management discovered all the manipulation Stanley Clarke had caused behind the scenes. He was fired on the spot, and Harry made sure to sue him for everything he was worth.

Clarke had inevitably confessed to forcing you out of Harry's life, stating that you ultimately left on your own accord. Quite frankly, Harry didn't know what to believe.

Before heading out for his show, he pulls out the small blue ring box he's kept all this time. He stares at it for a good minute before finally setting it down on the table and walking away. He doesn't need it anymore.

You'd been grateful to hear that Clarke stopped working for the boys. And you were even more grateful to never hear about him again after that. 'Good riddance,' you'd thought.

Even after that happened, you thought it was too late to go back to Harry. You were too scared that he'd grown to hate you. You dated other guys, and you'd watched him date other girls, but they never lasted. You could never fully commit when you knew in your heart that you still love Harry.

He's here tonight, performing for his solo tour. You weren't going to go, but your friend convinced you that seeing him in person is the only way to really let go. As you head out the door, you desperately hope that your friend is right.

'Oh, God,' you think. Your friend was so, so wrong. You thought you could handle it, but the second he steps onto that stage, it's like your heart is on fire all over again.

You want to cry, but at the same time, you want to smile. Harry looks... okay. He's smiling too as he sings out to the crowd. You're genuinely glad that he seems so happy. Even without you.

After five songs, Harry calls for a short break. He takes in the entire stadium, pausing when he's facing your section. You panic for a split second, then remind yourself that there's no way in hell that he can see you.

He lifts a hand to point right at your section and very clearly says "Restroom" into his mic. The crowd laughs, confused, as he leaves the stage. You, on the other hand, are pretty sure your heart just stopped.

You know what he said and you know what it means, but you can't believe he actually said it. Once you snap out of it, you waste no time.

You find the girls' bathroom where you had first talked to Harry about Titanic. It feels like that day was from another lifetime. You take a deep breath and then step inside.

It's empty. 'Of course it's empty,' you think, suddenly feeling stupid. You start to wonder if you simply imagined what he said. That is, until you notice a familiar pair of boots sticking out from the last stall.

You gently knock on the door. "Harry?" You don't get to say anything else. He opens the door, pulls you in, and hugs you so tight you can hardly breathe.

"I missed you so much," he says, his voice low. It's been what feels like forever since you heard it this close. "So, so much."

You hold him just as tight, realizing that there's no way you can let him go now. "I missed you too, Harry," you say. "But I gotta tell you, this isn't the most romantic setting."

He laughs against your neck, and you nearly melt from the sensation. "Well, I figured you'd be feeling nostalgic," he says. "And I had to see you."

You break apart so you can look at his face. "I'm so sorry for what I did," you say, your eyes filling with tears. "I'm sorry I hurt you." He just embraces you again, stroking your hair. "I almost gave up," he eventually says. "But I couldn't. I need you, [Y/N]."

"What about your head?" you ask. "Did you heal completely?"

"Well, I had my fair share of dizzy spells... And I lost a few brain cells," he says. "But that's okay; I was never the smartest cookie in the jar." You don't know whether to laugh or cry, so you end up doing both. "I'm really okay," he reassures you. "Especially now."

He leans down and kisses you, slow and soft, making up for lost time. "I love you," he says. "But I have to get back on stage."

"Okay," you say, kissing him again. He smiles and kisses you a third time before saying, "Okay, now I really have to go. But, hey, wait for me after the show. I have a surprise for you. And, trust me, it is long overdue."

* * *

You enjoy the rest of Harry's show, in total bliss, and then stay after until you're the last one standing in the stadium. You start to worry when Harry doesn't show up, when all of a sudden, the stage lights up again. And then...

"Oh my God," you gasp. Louis walks onto the stage, all smiles, followed by Liam, Niall and finally, Zayn. You must be dreaming. In fact, you almost pinch yourself. Harry comes out last, arm-in-arm with your friend. Well, now you know how Harry knew you were here. Your friend joins the boys, while Harry motions for you to join him onstage.

"I should've done this a long time ago," he says, holding your hands. "But it doesn't matter. All that matters is that I ask you now." He reaches for the necklace hiding under his shirt and reveals a beautiful diamond ring.

Before you can even register what is happening, he gets down on one knee. "[Y/N], will you marry me?" You've lost the ability to speak, so all you can do is nod and shower him with kisses.

Behind you, you can hear the boys and your friend clapping and whooping. You and Harry go over to them and give every one of them a big hug. Afterwards, the boys start goofing off and singing "My Heart Will Go On."

You and Harry slow dance across the stage, laughing all the while. "Like Titanic?" you ask him. "You know it, babe," he replies.

Epilogue. Eight years later.

You post a picture of your daughter holding up the Titanic DVD. While you do catch a few trolls, you ignore them and instead smile at the flow of lovely comments. You don't post to social media often, but you've come to enjoy sharing your life with your One Direction family. The fandom has come such a long way.

"This was our movie," you explain to your little girl. "And now I'm going to show it to you." Your daughter pouts. "I miss Daddy," she says. "I know," you say. "I miss him too."

Suddenly, the door bursts open. "Daddy!" your daughter runs over to Harry and latches onto his leg.

"I thought you had to work late tonight," you tell him. "What, you thought I'd really miss movie night? No way," he says. He gives you a sweet kiss and, like everything else about him, it's amazing.
