16. MAKE YOU MINE

Chanyeol’s POV


I was starting to feel like a housewife spending my days by the mansion. Since I had quit the club and people didn’t seem to be needing an assassin these days I was dead bored.

I was about to grab my keys and leave when Chen called.

“He has found you?” was all he said and my heart sank.

“Shit shit shit” I responded in shock. Not yet not now.

“There’s more bad news” Chen said.

“I doubt they could be anything worse than that” I responded trying to think of what my next move should be.

Should I run? Should I stay put and face the consequences?

“I found your snitch and…” I listened to everything he has to say as my eyes bulged out in shock.

I cut the call before rushing downstairs and found everyone in the kitchen having dinner.

“Where is Byun?” I lashed out in a rush.

“Why do you…”

“Luhan I know who the snitch is and right now he is with Byun and they plan to kill him tonight and he would never see it coming so we need to leave now if we have any chance of saving him and the others” I explained shocking everyone.

“Call…”

“Not going through they cut the network. My tracker isn’t even working” I said on my way out and everyone followed.

Luhan and Sehun rode with me while the others followed.

Please Baek I can’t lose you. Hold on for me.



Kris’ POV

Since morning I have been having a strange feeling but I brushed it off. This deal was important to the business and so I wouldn’t ruin it by superstitions.

Maybe I was just feeling under the weather but the last time I felt like this was the day Baek lost his parents.

One of the organizations under us was having a bit if trouble and boss was going to discuss how he could assist.

That’s one thing I loved about Baekhyun. He was a ruthless and unforgiving man but if you stayed true and loyal to him he would definitely take care of you.

I don’t understand why anyone would betray him.

When I heard there was a snitch in our midst I was shocked and swore I would find the backstabber.

“Are you alright?” Hoseok asked me as me as we entered the building.

“I’m good. Why do you ask?” I responded with a smile.

“You just seem a bit out of it. Are you sure you’re fine? I can take care of everything while you take a rest” he offered.

“I’m not trying to get killed by Byun” I said with a laugh but his mood changed.

“Yeah. He sure does that a lot” he said.

“Are you okay?” I asked a bit puzzled by his reaction. He seemed angry about something.

“I’m good. Don’t worry” he said with a smile like his mood had never changed.

“This is your last chance Kris. I think you should take a rest before you work yourself to death” he said.

“I’m good man. Don’t worry” I responded.

“Suite yourself” he said before walking ahead right beside Byun.

I took a deep breath before catching up with the others. Even if something crazy happened I knew Hoseok and I would be able to protect our boss. I even trusted the man with my life and so they was nothing to worry about.

Everything seemed to be going well through the meeting until it sounded like they was some commotion downstairs.

“What the hell is that?” Baekhyun asked the man sitting across from him.

“I have no idea he said and gunshots were heard as someone barged into the room and guns were pointed in his direction.

“They are back again. We are under attack” the man said in a panic.

These must be the problems they were talking about. Random attacks on their headquarters.

“Kris and Hoseok go and handle that” Baekhyun said as he pulled out his gun.

“What about you” I asked. it was my duty to protect him.

“I’m not a damsel in distress. I will get these guys out while you two and the others handle the situation downstairs. Jinyoung knows better than to betray me so don’t worry I will be fine” he said facing the other man who nodded in agreement.

I took the lead as I left with Hoseok to handle the situation downstairs as I commanded all the men down.

Hoseok and I were the only two left but before I could move into the warzone I felt a sharp pain on my head and tumbled to the ground.

I tried to get up but got kicked in the gut and punched in the face before my gun was kicked out of my reach.

“Just stay down Kris. I don’t want to kill you. My target is Byun not you” I turned in shock as I faced my partner and friend for years.

“What’s going on? Did you plan all this?” I still couldn’t wrap my head around what was happening.

“I have been waiting for the best opportunity to get rid of that monster for a very long time. I didn’t plan the attack but it was an opportunity I couldn’t afford to pass me by. Everyone will just think he died from gang wars” Hoseok said with a smile.

“Why?” I asked.

“My father died by the hands of the Byuns. I’m just returning the favor” he said as he turned to leave but I ignored the pain as I stood up and tackled him to the ground where we fought for the control of his gun.

We struggled for a few seconds before a punch and a kick later he overpowered me in my weak state and watched as he pointed his gun to me.

“I’m sorry Kris” he said before I closed my eyes and heard the gun shot as I prepared for my end.

But I felt nothing.

I opened my eyes to find Hoseok lying on the ground with his throat slit open and someone stood by his body.

I looked up to come face to face with Angel.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“I’m…I’m fine” I said in shock. Did Angel just save me? I thought he hated me.

“Good…because you owe me big time” he said but before I could respond he tumbled to the ground.

I sat up in shock only to realize his shirt was covered in blood.

What the hell? He got shot.

Angel got shot taking a bullet for me.
