Chapter 13

Sorry for the long ass wait. I am super busy and I'm in the middle of editing,  so I don't have much time. Plus I'm having a serious case of writers block.  I want to thank those of you that stayed with me and were patient.

Ashley's P.O.V

I woke up, unaware of my surroundings. Looking around I notice bars, other women, nasty toilets, and stiff cots. I'm in a holding cell. Not knowing why I'm here, I lift my head to ask a couple girls, if they know.

"Umm, excuse me. Do any of you know why I'm here?" I ask,  speaking to everyone,  in general.

"Yeah, bitch. I overheard the cops talking and they said they caught you with drugs, an unlicensed gun, and alcohol. Plus the fact that you were drunk, so they knew you weren't framed." One caramel skinned girl with nappy hair, a black eye, and torn clothes, said.

" But I WAS framed! I don't own a gun or drugs. That explains why I don't remember anything."

"Welp. They won't believe anything you say. Girls like you come in here with the same story and I rarely see them NOT placed in jail."

"How would you know all this?"

"Bitch, this is my fourth time here. I've seen a lot and I know I won't be getting off."

"Well. Thanks I guess."

I can't believe this!

Zoey's P.O.V

It's been 3 days since I've seen Ashley and I can honestly say that I'm relieved.

Today, I have to meet with a girl named Khianna from Laurel High School in Illinois.  We both are participating in some type of 'Sister Program'. It's all about meeting new people and learning about someone else's environment. She will be staying here for the rest of the school year.

'Bye, bye , bye. Ignoring your calls now

I'm tryna stack this money from wall to wall now

All I wanna do is stunt and ball now

I pick up my ringing phone to see the caller ID. It's Khianna.

"Your plane landed?" I asked through the phone.

"Yeah. My brother and I will be waiting for you to come by the entrance."

"Alright. I'm on my way now. " I said, while hanging up the phone and grabbing my keys. I also grabbed my suitcases because the program provides a house for us to live in. It took me about thirty minutes to get to the airport.   I was looking at my instagram, when I heard a tap on my window.

I rolled the window down and spoke. "Are you Khianna?"

"Yea. Thanks for picking us up." She replied.

"No problem.  Gone head and hop in." I say, being polite.

When they got situated,  I started the car and drove off to the house.

"So, tell me about yourself. " She says, glancing at me.

"There's not much to tell, but my name is Zoey. I'm seventeen. I play basketball graduating this year from Ghettowood high. It's an annoying and stupid school by the way. That's pretty much it."

"Well, my name is Khianna.  I'm also 17 and I also play basketball. I guess we have some things in common."

" Yeah yeah, but I'm the most important one. I'm Dashawn,  better known as Big Daddy D. I got hella hoes and I'm only 12." Her younger brother says, sounding very cocky.

"Well since you got hella hoes', I'm sure you can call one of them to come pick you up after I drop you off on the side of the road." I say, causing Khianna to laugh.

...

We got out the car, grabbing our bags and began walking on the walkway to the house. I was astonished at the size of the house. I expected a small middle-class home, but this is a mansion.

"Woah! Look at this. First thing I'm doing is calling my hoes." Dashawn says. All I do is laugh. There's no saving this little boy.

Once we reach the entrance,  I unlock the door using the key that the program director gave me. The inside looked just as good as the outside.

" I get the master bedroom! " Dashawn says.

"Not unless I get there first." I shout, halfway up the steps. Before he could even get to the top step,  I open the door to the room marked Master Bedroom. I place my bags on the bed and grab the key to the room that was placed on the dresser. I lock the door as I exit the room

As Dashawn and Khianna make it up the stairs, I start to walk around glancing in the doorways. Once they both get settled in their rooms, we walk downstairs to meet the rest of the program members and read the objective of the program.  On the coffee table, in the hallway,  is a paper with the objective typed on it.

" Hello, my name is Marcia Thompson. I am the director of the program, Teenage Unity. This is a very special program and you should feel proud to be the selected members. During your stay, you will partake in several activities that will help you become closer to your partner.

Society is separated by class, race, ethnicity, etc. We want to eliminate the separation from our country and you are the beginning of this project. Help us make a change one step at a time.

Enjoy your stay. "

I hope I will enjoy my stay.

We then walk towards the living room area to greet the other members. As we walk in, I notice the how there are people of different races. I notice African Americans, Caucasians ,Lations, Orientals, East Indians, etc. I'm glad that the house is filled with different races because some people tend to stick to their own race,  while others have a diverse range of friends.

Khianna's P.O.V

We learned the names of the program members and watched a movie together.  In our rooms,  Zoey and I talked and I can honestly say that I think I already made a friend here. I wasn't too sure about leaving Chicago and coming here because I love my home. I'm glad I made this decision because it's a great opportunity and it also looks good on my resume.

I also learned that Zoey is currently dating Langston Higgins. She promised to introduce me to The Rangers,  when we get to school.

I know I'm going to enjoy my stay.

______________________

I tried to make this chapter long because I haven't updated in months, but that didn't work out.  I had trouble writing this chapter because I wasn't really feeling the book. I don't know whether I should continue the book, just delete it,  or put it on hold. It kinda already was on hold, but I just never announced it.

I am changing my updating schedule to once a month, until I get a little more responses. I really don't know if you guys are enjoying the book because I never get any comments saying " I like how you..." or " I like the chapter but...", Some writers may find this annoying,  but I actually want your help. I just don't want spelling corrections.

You wanna know what I find funny?  I posted a A/N saying it's my birthday and I only got 1 or 2 responses. #Fse Even the people that been reading the book from the beginning left no comment. But it's cool. I told myself I wasn't going to rant, but that's exactly what I'm doing.

To finish this up, I want to thank the one or two people that said happy birthday to me on 7/22. (It's too late to say happy birthday.  Happy belated doesn't mean shït to me, but ' I don't care enough to say happy birthday on the actual day or even week'.

I also want to thank the people that comment because although we're nowhere near my goal,  it's progress. (Goals are usually 10-40 comments/votes. -__-)
