Judges will be judging according to this point system:
Plot (10 pts) [NOTE: Since for rounds such as Round 1, judges will only be reading the first chapter, plot will be based off of how strong and well-written the first chapter is.]
Characters (10 pts) [NOTE: Since for rounds such as Round 1, judges will only be reading the first chapter, characters will be based off of how well the main protagonist is introduced.]
Grammar/Punctuation (10 pts)
Title (5 pts)
Creativity/ideas, was it interesting to read? (10 pts) [NOTE: Since for rounds such as Round 1, judges will only be reading the first chapter, creativity/ideas will be based off of whether or not the first chapter hooked the judge(s) in.]
Description (5 pts)
The total score is 50 points, maximum.
The poetry rubric is a bit different:
Creativity/ideas, was it well-written? (20 pts)
Structure/Grammar/Punctuation (10 pts)
The total score is 30 points, maximum.
***The admins will be looking at the points the judges give. If the admins all think that, for example, the book does not deserve a 1/10 on grammar, we do have the right to discuss with each other and change it. Though this will not happen usually, it is just a warning!***
