Edgar :
You had just moved to Santa Carla and it was actually a nice change from where you used to live. Unfortunately, you had just gotten used to your old towns comic shop, and that was hard enough to find!! You'd be lucky if you could find another one that had one fifth as much as the last. You're older sister managed to drag you out to the Board Walk that she had seen flyers for around town, and with her being the social butterfly she was it didn't take long till you ended up wandering on your own.
In comparison to everyone else, your camo jacket, black tank top, and skinny jeans looked more out of place than the fact there were more adults on the Carousel as opposed to children. After nearly an hour and a half of walking, your eyes landed on the most beautiful thing in this whole town. A comic shop. Biting your lower lip you stepped in and a small bell dinged from above the door. Walls decorated with shelves full of colorful comics greeted you and you couldn't help but grin. You had only been in the store for maybe three minutes before you realized two guys around your age were staring you down, one from behind a beam with dark blonde hair and a red bandana and another from behind a shelf who had a binder of some sort in his hands. Within moments you heard heavy footsteps behind you and spun around on your heels and came face to face with the guy with the red bandana.
"Can I help you?" You slid your hands into your jacket pocket. "Just scoping out your civilian clothes." He retorted with a deep, gruff voice and although he might not think you saw him, his eyes flickered towards your feet, looking at everything on the way down. "Well, if you're done gawking. Can you let me know if there's an 'Uncanny X-Men #168' anywhere in here? Kitty Prydes' first appearance?" A smile played at the corner of his lips and he tried his best to hide it. "Sure girlie, this way."
Alan :
You had been living in Santa Carla for a while now and even made a few friends, but you had yet to visit the only real attraction in this town. The Board Walk seemed a bit to busy for you and yet, against your better judgment and because your friend promised to meet you, here you were. Your hands were tucked into your leather jacket, balled up into fists. Surfer-Nazi's made you as uncomfortable as the common Jock seeing as how they both don't understand when to back off. You were standing by the Ferris Wheel waiting for your friend to make her appearance when someone slipped their arm around your shoulder, that's when the smell of booze hit you.
Staggering back a bit from the stench you scrunched up your nose and shrugged the persons' hand off of you before they could speak. "Could you not?" Looking up, you glared daggers at some Surf-Nazi who was way too close for comfort. "Aww, come on babe. Don't be like that." You had to shut your eyes to keep them from watering with how terrible his breath was, it was as if six people died and decayed in his gullet. "Listen, buddy, I'm really not in the mood for this." You sighed, forcing your eyes open to keep watch of the strangers' movements. The man moved in closer and roughly grabbed your wrist which forced a wince from your lips.
By sheer chance, a guy around your age stepped up behind you, you had half expected him to start harassing you to but were pleasantly pleased when he gingerly grabbed your hand and started speaking. "If you know what's good for you-you'll lay off my girl." His voice was deep, yet velvety which gave you a strange sense of comfort and safety. The two guys had an intense stare off for a few moments before the Surf-Nazi left to go find a different prey. Turning your attention to the guy who still had a hold of your hand, you gently pulled your hand away from him and smiled sheepishly.
