There are two types of suffocation, the most common gives no breath during the entire downward spiral. People give up easily with this, which is actually the better part.
Suffocation type two: just enough air is allowed and light is shown to keep the person alive. Just enough to let them hold onto a little hope of survival. these people are often cursed with the gift of never giving up, making everything harder. And as much as they wish to see the end of their misery, another part of them knows that they never will. Soon, the part of them that wants to give up starts to dominate. Depression kicks in. Still they hold on because of instinct.
My suffocation is the second.
