Embarrassment

You jumped back a bit as you noticed him.

He put his face in his hands. You looked at him confused, you thought he was embarrassed, then you realised... He was laughing at you!

You pouted and said "Why are you laughing, I bet you would have jumped to if someone came up behind you with no warning!"

He regained him self and said "I did give you a warning, I walked up and said hi".

You sat there embarrassed just staring at the floor trying to hide your face cause you were pretty sure you were blushing.

Then JB walked back in. He stood in the doorway staring at you two obviously confused.
