Lisa: *on Walky Talky* I'm following the car onto the interstate. Keep in close pursuit.

Me: *on Walky Talky* I'm right behind you.

Lisa: *oWT* I feel good about this case. Maybe afterwards we can get some donuts and be real cops.

Me: *oWT* Although cliche, that sounds like a good plan.

Lisa: *oWT* Yea, we been chasin these fools so lon- *gco

Then I looked up and the people we were chasing took a sharp turn through some cars and Lisa's car crashed into another car. Immediately it started flipping and I crashed on brakes. Her car stopped near the median, and it looked like a squeezed tin can. I ran out the car toward hers and the ambulance were already on the way.

***End of Flashback***

Roz: Tionne? Tionne? Ti- *gco

Me: Huh?

Roz: You alright?

Me: I'm fine.

She gave me a sympathetic look and looked up to see Pebbles walking toward us.

Pebbles: Glad you girls made it on time. Hopefully you'll keep this up.

I rolled my eyes.

Me: So we're here to talk about contracts?

Pebbles: Yes. Here are your contracts. If you'll just sign them for me.

Roz: It okay if we bring em home to look over em with our attorney?

Pebbles: I'm embarrassed. You two don't trust me or something?

Roz: It's just that it would be a wise decision..

Pebbles: Girls. I can guarantee you that I have your backs.

I rolled my eyes and took the papers.

Me: Look Chilli, I think we should sign them now and look over them later.

Pebbles: I like this one. I think you should agree.

Roz: Alright fine.

She said, signing the contract along with me. I know it seemed stupid, but I know what I was doing.

Pebbles: Alright. Welcome to Pebbitone!

I could see past her facade. I just chose to play along for the sake of the case.

Me: Thank you.

I forced through my teeth.

Roz: Yes, it'll be nice working with you.

I don't see how Roz could seem so genuine. Maybe she was just naturally nice. She was always happy and smiling. Now Lisa wasn't completely like that, but it wasn't too bad. After our meeting with Pebbles, we were headed back to the office.

Roz: Why did you tell her we didn't need to read the contracts?

Me: We don't need to blow our cover. Plus, we have people on the inside that could always get them for us.

Roz: Oh I didn't think of it that way.

Me: That's why there's two of us.

She started grinning.

Me: What you grinning for?

Roz: You actually considering us a team now?

Me: I been considered us a team.

Then the rest of the ride was silent.
