"Well, when did this start, Marvin?" Schneeplestein asked.

Marvin was sitting in the office that Scneep was always in, getting poked and prodded by the doctor.

"You know it's been happening for a long time, we just always passed it off on being exhausted from using magic."

Schneeplestein nodded his head, listening to Marvon's heart. "But recently, what has changed to make you think it's something different?"

Marvin breathed in and out accordingly. "Well lately it's been happening even when I haven't used magic at all. I'm still falling asleep in random places. It's gotten hard to do much of anything," he explained. Marvin had come to see Schneep because he was afraid that his random sleeping was more than just from magic.

"Has there been anything else? After all, your chronic depression could sap your energy quickly." The doctor muttered that quietly, not wanting to mention it, but it was needed.

Marvin huffed a bit, "Umm... Sometimes when I get really tired, right before I go to sleep, I get really bad hallucinations."

The doctor once again nodded his head and leaned back in his chair. "Marvin, I think you may have narcolepsy."

Marvin sighed and got quiet. Great, that was just what he needed. Something else to make his life different. Something else to keep him from being normal.

"What should I do about it?"

"Well, narcolepsy isn't something that can be cured. There are medicines to keep you up longer of course, bit I'm afraid the side effects wouldn't be worth the couple of extra hours you'd get. I think that you should go about how you have been, and if it gets unbearable come back and we can try some of the medicines."

Marvin put his head in his hands. "It already is, Schneep. That's why I came back. I'll have plans and accidentally sleep through them. I've missed dates with Jackie because of it."

Schneeplestein walked over and gave him a side hug. "It'll be okay Marv. Tell Jackie what's going on, I'm sure he'll understand. I really don't want you to jave to experience the side effects of the medicine. It could make your depression worse and I certainly don't want that and I'm sure you don't either."

Marvin nodded and a few years escaped his eyes, but he wiped them away. "Okay, I will. I trust you."
