Angst and Maybe Some Fluff

A Failed Date

Marvin was excited. He was going out on a date with Jackie tonight and all he knew was that he should dress comfortably and meet him at a restaurant at 7. It was only 5 right now, and he didn't have anything to do before he had to leave so he sat on the couch to watch some tv to pass the time.

He flipped it onto a game show channel, not actually caring what it was. He watched it for about two minutes, but he slowly got sleepy and he started to panic.

He couldn't sleep now, he would miss his date. But he couldn't help it as he closed his eyes and lost track of time.

Hours later, Jackie came in the door with splotches on his cheeks from crying. He looked over on the couch to the sleeping magician and a bit of his anger faded, but he went to bed without saying a word.

Marvin woke up at around 12 am and he started panicking. He had missed his date. He knew he couldn't sleep before his date but he fell asleep despite the thought.

Marvin jumped up and ran to Jackie's door. He put his ear to it and heard muffled sounds of crying. That in of itself made tears come to his own eyes. He knocked on the door and whispered, "Hey, Jackie? I'm sorry! I didn't mean to sleep through it, I didn't mean it."

Marvin was crying now as he leaned against the still closed door. "Jackie, I love you."

Marvin felt the door open, and he launched himself at Jackie, hugging him tightly. He felt a light hug back.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he mumbled, sobbing at this point.

Jackie sat on the floor, taking Marvin with him. "It's okay Marvin I saw that you were asleep." Jackie sighed a bit. "You've been falling asleep a lot. I know you say it's your magic, but did you even use any today?"

Marvin shook his head, "No I didn't. I didn't want to be tired when we went out."

Jackie nodded. "I," he paused, "I think you should go see Schneep. Maybe he could make it better."

Marvin nodded, "Anything for you.".
