The scream

Daryl's P.O.V

I hold my crossbow prepared for an attack. I am out hunt with rick and michonne " god they were bad at hunting I new I should of went on my own ". I hope we catch a deer soon or just something other than canned food. Back at the prison there's lots of canned food but I can't complain some people in this world don't even have food. The sun was beating on my back , what a beautiful day . I miss the old days rick said out load , just of what it was like before family's ,kids, people I miss lori. Tears swelled up in his eyes but he forced himself not to cry. I think for a moment and say " now it's just people trying to eat us and to rip our face open and take a huge bite. I walk off in front of rick and michonne until I no longer see them. I remember back to the conversation we just had hell I miss merle why did that stupid idiot go off on his own anyway. I snap out of my thoughts when I hear a noice " a walker " I am alarmed straight away I give a heads up to rick. Him and michonne in a snap second had their weapons out at the ready for what was to come. I hear the moans " oh no a herd " I take out a couple of walkers. I was going to have to stealth my way through killing them silently not to draw the others attention. There must be over 15 of them. I am down to the last couple walkers. I take aim at this one walker in my opinion was moving a little to fast. I look through my scope lining up the shot. I can't get a clear view to many trees so I take the shot " dang it " I missed the head , but hit the side of its torso. I run after the walker to put it down and collect my arrow. I start getting a bad feeling in my stomach I don't know what is was. I was properly just hungry I skipped out on breakfast this morning. I look down to the ground I had deafenly hut the walker there was a blood trail. I follow the red river weaving in and out of trees. That's when I hear a high pitch scream. I start sprinting the bad feeling in my stomach must have been that . What if I haven't shot a walker but instead someone . I run up and lean against a tree to catch my breath that's when I see a couple of walkers gathered round something. I raise my crossbow and start shooting they start falling to the ground lifelessly. I walk up to where the walkers were gathered up to before. I stand there mouth agape there layed a girl with my arrow lying beside her on the ground. She stares at me for a couple seconds but then her eyes close . I panic and pick the girl up in my arms and carry her bridal style. She was super light her bones dug into my arms I could tell she hadn't eaten in a long time. I take off my red neck scarf and put it own her apply pressure to the wound. If I didn't get her to Hershel soon she was going to bleed to death. I ran to find rick and michonne to get back to the car to drive back. I ran quite far as I took a couple minutes to find them . When I first see rick he stands there in horror looking at the girl. He says " Jesus daryl what the hell happen " but all I said to them was " there's no time to explain so come own and move your asses ". We run together back to the truck. Rick and michonne sit in the front seats as I sat in the back. I rested the girls head on my lap with my hand on her stomach . I just couldn't stop feeling guilty this my shot I shot this girl , a girl just minding her own business. I stare at her face for the whole journey back she couldn't be much younger than I . I'm was 23 but she looked 18 , 19 .She was quilt pretty with blonde hair. That's when I look up to the gates of the prison the gates open and the car comes to a stop . I jump out of the car carrying the girl running inside the prison. " Hershel come quick I need your help" . He stuck his head out of a cell and saw the girl . "Quick get her her and lay her own the bed . Hershel called out to maggie and Glenn they came rushing to help. I stand behind Hershel impassioned paceing up and down the room . That's when Hershel says " daryl get out of her now I need room " I don't budge. That's when rick and T- dog drag me out the cell. I scream and kick at them telling them to get the hell of me . They let me go I pace up and down the hall . I then punch a wall with all my force I leave a dent in the wall. My hand is bleeding a little but it was nothing . I watch rick walk into the cell pulling something from his pocket I hear a clang noise. I rush into the room only to see rick handcuffing her to the bed. What the hell I shout to his face . He looks at me and says " we need to take precauseions just In case she doesn't make it . When Hershel is done I walk into the room and wait for her to wake up . Hershel says to me that it might take hours for her to wake up but I don't care it was me who put her here. It feels likes hours when she starts to move I tense up straight away and everyone else comes rushing into the room to see her waken.
